Still slacking on RRG video, and now will likely slack on Rush vids and pics, too. You'll live.

Anywho... @Chelle94 now wants to buy me new front suspension. Resi's. Probably FOX to match rears. Any idea how well they hold up to our area's climate?
My 5100s look okay after being on there about a year. I think they're uncoated aluminum bodied.

Cereal. Looking at Fox shocks in the front.
Come to find out that their 2.5s are steel bodied, 2.0 are aluminum. Obviously, the alum will hold up better to our environment in the area, but can't get a 2.0 w/ resi. Appearances of the 2.5 and when I lent a hand to @mwc273 when he installed his Fox setup, seems like the 2.5 would be better with the top pivot point, versus being directly bolted to the shock tower.

King is the only company (so far, per my searching. think ADS is Cerakote) using a coating other than a zinc formula, which holds up better. But, Fox uses the strongest material for the shafts, which are exposed all the time.

Then, gotta figure out if Fox 2.5s work with SPC LR UCAs or not.

Next, need to take into consideration of coil spring rates. Haven't found a concise answer to what they come off the shelf with. I do have the bumper and skid up front, winch very soon. Likely a mid skid as well.

    HALP MEH!

I have SPC LR UCAS and Fox 2.5 with resis and DSC adjusters. Works greats.
They come off the shelf at 625 or 600. Both myself and Matt have 700# springs. Marie at headstrong hooked it up. The 700# are nice. Depends on how much weight you plan overall. If you plan bumper and armor, up to you.

You should go with Extended travel, but when looking back, I could've bought the fox for long travel instead and went crazy for a nearly similar price.

You probably don't have the weight for 700# springs.

Also, get ADS. Because theyre amazing.

    Reference

    This weekend:
Fix alignment. Plan is to roll the rear cam bolt all the way out, front cam all the way in. Check numbers, correct where needed. Adjust the UCA to 3° from it's 2° position. Cut/hammer if needed. Did have some rub on passenger side, don't remember what direction I was turned when it happened. Check and double check that components aren't compromised in any way.
Swap tars. The KM2s were spinning on take off this morning in the rain and some traction loss in turns. They just aren't a wet weather road tire at this stage in their life.
Mount fogs and bar in/on the bumper. Drill holes for the single row 21" bar inside the hoop (kinda hate that I don't have a bar cutout, MIGHT make my own) and reuse the existing harness from the former 32" hidden bar. The pre-drilled holes don't align with it, 1/2" too narrow. Modify the fog brackets on the bumper to fit the 4.5" round LEDs, basically cutting off the ears and making it flat so the supplied light brackets sit flush. After talking with the guys around the fire at Rush, thinking of wiring the fogs into the DRL circuit so they're always on in all switch positions and auto-off, then re-purpose that harness for the rear bed lights and get that project complete after a year of them sitting there.

Think that about covers it I think.

Next new purchase will be a 255 spare. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXY2NE...olid=21JNEYJPBHJYS&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Will be checking my collection of wheels to find a suitable backspaced spare that will match. Watching Josh struggle to turn with the steel spare 285 this weekend was a pain, and it wasn't easy on him either. Kept hitting the uca before full lock in 2wd.

Then a new clutch, because I like to party. https://www.lceperformance.com/Pro-Clutch-Kit-2TR-2-7-LITER-2005-2017-10-p/1053084.htm

Followed by an Engo SR9S winch. Develop some sort of "sandwich plates" on the bumper for :muscleflexing: https://www.allensoffroad.com/ENGO-SR9S

Next will be some sort of rear locker. Undetermined still

@Chelle94 still has plans to buy me front resi shocks eventually. ADS or Fox

So what exactly do you want to know? Because this was just all thoughts but no questions.

There are scientific formulas to calculate spring rate, preload, shock size needed, shock placement, stroke, oil weight, blah blah blah. Fox is a great shock. So is King, so is ADS. Fox uses industry standard shock bodies with zinc coating, the best seals on the planet in Viton, industry leading shaft material for strength, industry leading DSC dampening adjuster with separate high and low speed compression adjustments, superior oil and a superior linear piston design as opposed to a digressive piston design found in a shock I didn't mention as being great, Icon.

Now I didn't argue for Fox being better than one of the other big name companies (I kinda did) but I can if you would like more specific facts. What's important when picking a company name is the parts used for the build. Springs rate and valving can be changed on any of these big name shocks so to simply state "I like my *blank* shocks because they ride good and hence recommend them" is a very elementary recommendation. If you simply want to get an opinion on will you like them, be fine with them and never care to know how much better something else can be then my opinion is the dumbest one possible (which I still see on this forum) "pick a color".

*Disclamer* that was not my real opinion and only said that as an unpaid actor poorly attempting an imitation of another unpaid actors real opinion.
