I was there on Monday. Mud was plenty slippery in certain areas as it rained pretty hard in the afternoon. Must have rained on Sunday tho too at some point?

Was nice on Monday before noon. Parked in my usual sandy spot until was told to move across to a little nook. 883344AF-3693-40A1-B0EB-B7448718EC75.jpg

Rain came down pretty hard in the afternoon. A lot of slipping and sliding. Actually had to countersteer to at one point. Was exciting though.

Yeah weather was great on Monday until about 3 as well. Sliding was fun until my truck kept moving toward the bushes haha.

We left around 4ish. I was with a Silverado and frontier but there were quite a few exiting at the same time. Had a 1st gen straight gas it through the soft mud portion throwing chunks haha.

They initially thought they would issue 600-1000, and they are now at 10,000 for the year??? Wow.

Not all may agree, but I would actually be willing to pay a fee for the annual pass. Granted, I would want that $$ go to the preservation of the area, and not just to pay for enforcement, or to slush fund another project. I have had a pass for the past 3 years, and I have never used it once in that time.. but again, I would gladly pay in order to keep it open for my kids and their kids..

At $100 a pass for a year or even 2 years, I wonder how many people that would deter from just getting one to have it. I would still get one, knowing it was going to the upkeep of the land.

10,000!?!? they gotta keep someone there to enforce the rules and strip people of their decals. Seems like it's still getting worse judging by the pictures.

The officer up there the other day was weird about me even having a sticker. I had to log in and show him the code on my phone.

Shit I wouldn't pay for a pass. But it would deffinatly help preserve the park and cut down numbers

Eff that, that just more money they would piss away and nothing would change. If you were charging $100 and removed all the boulders and let everyone have fun, wheel, drink, and camp in 4 sided tents, then you'd have something.

See, that's one less right there.. lol..

As I stated previously, "Granted, I would want that $$ go to the preservation of the area, and not just to pay for enforcement, or to slush fund another project.". But, the "have fun, wheel, drink" is kinda why we have the problems we do now.. It'll close down, no one will be able to go any more (other than to walk or bike in), and we will be able to tell our kids about this great place we used to be able to go to.. again, that's just my .02

We should do a fishing outing there one weekend before the waves start getting big.
