Ordered my kit on friday, cant wait to get started! I planned on doing a clutch, but have not ordered it yet. I have 120K on the stock clutch and planned on driving it until it fries. Looking at the spec stage 2+ clutch for the 5 speed. anyone use this clutch? how does it feel on the pedal? I love how light my stock clutch is.

Well it seems my controller didn't come pre-programed and/or there is something wrong with it and/or the new fuel pump that came with it.
My mechanic can't get it to deliver enough gas & will be calling @Gadget@URD this morning for some help.

    Yep.
Congrats! I'll be picking one up soon-ish as well.... need to find a discount code again lol.

Have been doing tons of reading on clutches the past week or so... This is a good thread.

Just ordered the LCE dual comp (stage 2) clutch and LCE headers myself :D

Dang, hopefully an un-programed one slipped through. I'm sure Gadget will get you fixed up quick. Let us know what the root cause was after it's fixed.

    Yep.
    Ordered mine right from LCE.

Couldn't tell you the pros/cons, didn't come across the SPEC during my recent research although, it sounds like a good option. Prices are similar.

    SPEC stage 2+:

    product-stage-2p.jpg

Features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and Kevlar on the other. Bridging the gap between stage 2 and stage 3, the 2+ offers drivability and engagement quality characteristic of the stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, autocross, road racing, pulling, rally and drift.

    • High clamp pressure plate
    • Hybrid Kevlar and Carbon-Graphite Friction material
    • High torque sprung hub and disc assembly (application dependent)
    • Bearing and tool kit (application dependent)
    • Torque capacity of 401ftlbs

    LCE Dual Comp:

    1053085-2.jpg

All of LC Engineering's clutch kits feature all new components with a single diaphragm H.D. pressure plate. Don't be fooled by fancy spinning gizmos. A diaphragm clutch delivers full holding power at all engine rpm's.

Our Dual-Comp Clutch Kit was developed for both street and off-road racers requiring a more aggressive clutch without giving up every day drive ability. The key to this kit is the clutch disc. One side has metallic pucks for a positive hold and the other has our Pro clutch fiber lining providing a smoother engagement to retain drive ability.

We recommend this for street vehicles with high horsepower engines. This clutch is stiffer than stock, but not as stiff as our metallic clutch kit. Clutch kits come with the pressure plate, clutch disk, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and a new alignment tool.

Pressure Plate Clamping Force: LCE PRO 2100 Lbs.

Torque Limit Ft. Lbs: 385 Ft. Lbs.
    Horsepower Limit: 385 HP

My truck is supercharged & ready to come home.
5th injector wasn't wired properly so it was only using the stock 4.
Well they dyno'd it before for a baseline 130HP with larger than stock tires (265/75/16s vs stock 4Banger size 245/75/16s)
    After adding
    URD Mk3 Supercharger kit for 05-15 Tacoma 2.7L 2TR-FE 4 Cylinder
URD 2TR-FE Stage 1 to Stage 2 Supercharger Upgrade
    LCE Header (a long-tube header in a short-tube package)
    Short throw shifter
    Upgraded clutch
    Magnaflow cat back
I now have almost double the horses with 245HP :burnrubber:
A friend will be picking me up in an hour to go pick it up (40 miles away)
This is going to be a long 1:40

I like those power numbers. What torque did it put down? Any way you could post the dyno chart?

Are those tires e-rated too? That sounds like very impressive RWHP numbers.

No just P rated. I got these tires for pulling the trailer (see next post pics).
I've also got a set of 5 255/85/16 BFG KM2 mounted for off roading.
I wanna try towing with the 265/75/16s 1st & see if I think it can handle towing with the 33s

Than you Oz for inspiring me & I know what you mean. It IS a new truck.
    Your Taco now has a 4x4 Brother with 245.28 HP & 228.87 Ft/Lbs
And thank you @Gadget@URD for your part in these fine upgrades & for helping my mechanic figure out where he fucked up.

    Hell yes
    But insane is fun
It sure does love the boost and yes the BOV does get their attention.
It just wants to go faster & faster as the HP keeps climbing.
    Now I need TURD stickers

I'm still having a hard time believing how much power my Taco now has after boosting (almost double). It's so much more fun to drive now.DSCF4943.jpg DSCF4940.jpg

Now you need a new clutch, heavier flywheel and lower gears in the diffs (probably 4.88:1) and it will tow so much better.

Lol, heavier flywheel. I don't think I could deal with any more more rev hang when shifting at 5k rpm

Already got the upgraded clutch installed.
I haven't tried towing yet, but I don't see it having a problem since it now has more power than a stock 2nd Gen V6 & my trailer is small & light.
I now have almost double the horses with 245HP :burnrubber:

Stoked for you but I very well remember my 2010 4banger. Off the line from a stand still was always it's biggest weakness. You may have higher peak power numbers from that dyno run than what Toyota posts for the stock V6 trucks but you gotta look at the power band.
I'd be highly surprised if you could beat a stock V6 on a 1/4 mile, even if you go back to stock tires.
4.88 and a heavier flywheel will really make a big difference towing, or rock crawling
