Hi, new to the forum. Just bought my fourth Tacoma. I've owned an '85, '88 & '02. Just bought a '16.

Understand there is a TSB I should get as some 3rd Gen Tacos have issues w/ transmission. (this is a new acronym to me...I'm just a driver, and totally not a mechanic!) What would you suggest I tell my dealer in order to get this fix? I do notice, now that it's been mentioned to me, that the transmission sometimes 'struggles' to find a gear on the freeway. Thanks for any help.

    On the "about me" side:

50 yrs old; married; two kids
Live in suburban West St. Louis, MO (Go Cards! Go Blues!)
Mountain Bike rider, former racer, now only one or two races / year (ride a Giant Anthem XTC singlespeed)
Paddler (former K1 whitewater guy in OR/WA, now a canoeist in MO)
    Hiker / backpacker
    VP-sales in the Outdoor Industry

Truck is a 2016 Double Cab. Pretty well bone stock at this point. I got rid of my last Tacoma in 2014 (it was a 2002 TRD Extra Cab 5-spd that I bought new in '02 and drove about 150K miles) and bought, gasp, a Ford Flex. Won't make that mistake again. Bought this truck a couple days ago and it feels like coming home!

Just tell your dealer of service advisor about the issue and tell them you know of a TSB for the issue and ask them if they can do it which should be no issue

Ford flex! I have a friend who went from a Tacoma to an F-250 and I think he's still in denial about how good the Ford is. My email address is ford.blows@gmail.com if you ever want to discuss the ways that Ford has made our modern world more mediocre.

Welcome and good luck with the tsb. Shouldn't be too much of an issue with the service department.

The NHL trash talk thread gets pretty rowdy. Not for the light hearted, but always fun if you're really into it and don't mind keyboard warriors occasionally.

And a mountainbiker to boot. My old rides were a Demo 9, fsr xc, and a Remedy. A non bicycle related event ( breaking my back and dislocating my hip ) slowed those days down though.

Again, welcome. And hope to see you around.
