Interesting, that’s even less time than I thought. Yeah it definitely didn’t seem right. The reason I went to Toyota is I figured they’d have the most experience doing this type of work and it wouldn’t be an issue. I have to send my old lights back to the guy that did the BHLM so want to make sure it’s done right.

I always used to lose the 12mm. Damn Honda’s and their 12mm bolts...

I’ve got plenty of 10s on the Jeep. Not nearly as many as other cars cause most of the areas where there would be a 10mm there is a Torx bolt, but there are a few.

Just wanted to share a cool story. Toyota dealer was giving me the runaround about swapping in my new BHLM headlights, and they were going to charge me a crazy amount to do it. I reached out to @SearArtist since I know he had done it before, and he said sure and we met up yesterday. He did the swap with no problems at all and in WAY less time than Toyota quoted me. Really nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. He made it look easy but I know there's no way I could have done it myself. It was really generous of him to give some time out of his day to help out a fellow forum member. Thanks again Matt! Before and after pics below.

Interested to see if you notice any additional noise, thats what has kept me from doing vinyl. You should measure DB in the cab at a certain speed with carpet then do it exactly the same with vinyl, see if there is a difference?

You don't REALLY need to cover it back up. You can cut it now and weld in a plate later. It's not going to hurt anything with it being exposed.

I plan on cutting it out. Wasn’t sure about leaving it open for too long period a time. Thanks for the info.

You can leave it open for a long while hell some guys never cover it back up. But if you get a little happy with the clearancing and go to really hacking it up I have heard some guys have them start to sag. But they are really taking a lot off like almost 1/3 of the mount or more.
You could always shoot an email down to SOS and see if/when he could fit you in for welding it up.
