Trans, t care and x member bolted up. I'm waiting on the 3 long bell housing and 1 long starter bolt. I'm going to work on the clutch lines and brake pedal next, then on to the electrical. At this point I have 8hrs into the swap of actual wrench time ( after hundreds of hours of research on the interweb). I need to take the rear shaft to get shortened and balanced this week but living in the sticks its 100 miles one way from me. I think the only parts I'm missing are the vss and a donor pig tail. I have a manual brake pedal but it's from a older truck so it won't work without modification. Older trucks have a different master cylinder w/ short rod no linkage.

I chopped up the doner pedal, took the sawzall to mine and fired up the welder. I also burned a small washer under the dash so I can use a brake return spring instead of the torsion spring it had stock

Cup holder delete mod. Interior back together. Looked like the po had 17 dogs in this truck all at the same time. I pulled to seats for more space and I could make a sweater with all the hair, nasty. I was surprised the shift bit trim from my 95 fit the 03 center console. It's a different color grey but I don't really care. My truck isnt going to win any beauty contest anyway.

This is a sic build! Not to many manual swapped D-cabs out there.

Were you able to take out that rear main seal with out removing that metal "housing" that is bolted to the back of the motor? If so, how'd you do it?
Also, what are you doing with the blown 3rz motor? What exactly is wrong with it?

Rear main I drilled a small hole, put the screw tip on my slide hammer and it popped right out. The 2.7 was a catastrophic failure, rod out the side of the block. Sold the head.

Derped bumpers to match wheels, used duplicolor graphite. Looks very close to poverty spec tacoma bumper color. Also finished debadge

Got my driveshaft back. Installed it and drive around. I converted the shaft to a 1 piece. Dumped the carrier bearing and double carden. No vibes , not sure how fast I was going( I'm guessing about 75, 2750rpm, 285s w/4.56s) I still need to find a vss and a pigtail

Found a manual ecm finally. It was even on sale 15% off for labor day on everything at b&r auto salvage. Sold my spare motor from my T100 and found a good deal on another tacoma 00 auto 2.7 ex cab 4x4

Marking my rear flares for some trimming. They rub just a bit when on full compression

I like what you’re doing here. Resurrecting junk and making the vehicle you want is far more interesting than just buying a new one.

Thanks man. People tell me I'm so lucky to know how to fix stuff, I tell them it's a gift and a curse. Sometimes I wish I could just take it to the shop and let them deal with it. I couldn't afford to pay someone to work on my junk and I don't trust anyone to work on my stuff, so many bad experiences I read about. Plus the money I save on labor I can use on the part fund for my mod addiction

Thanks. I’ll look it up. I’m not necessarily “looking” for one. I just keep my eye out for a good deals on random stuff like that. It’d be pretty cool to build one up eventually

Got my speedo working. I found a VSS, @Tour991 had one for a good price. Don't hesitate buying parts from him, fast shipping, no bs. I had to extend my vss wiring about 18 inches from the previous location on the auto trans. All I have left to 100% complete my swap is find a pigtail for reverse lights and splice it in to the harness and figure out which wire to cut to make my cruise control work again
