I was also able to get the idle functioning properly as well. Turned out I had it wired correctly, I just needed to make some changes to my settings. In the Idle Control screen I needed to change the box 3 Wire Mode to VVT so that it it would see the VVT wire as an PWM output in order to be able to close the valve. I then recalibrated my CTS as well as my TPS since they were a little off. I also entered some different values for the crank up settings as well. This is set up now to control idle through closed loop tuning. Here are some pics of my settings. Idk how these compare to screens in the Haltech but hopefully some of it may transfer over. The last 3 screens I didn’t alter but thought they could be helpful to someone.

The truck runs a lot better now. Since I put the smaller pulley in it, it pinged like eff in boost and in open loop, AFR’s would drop to 10’s making it bog. Now with the timing map I’m running, the truck is WAY more responsive out of boost and much torque-ier as well. It pulls much better in boost as well. The main tuning area I need to figure out is when I’m cruising on the freeway and stomp on it to get into boost, the AFRs drop to 10.2 for not even a second before hitting high 11’s to low 12’s. I not sure why it’s doing that but it causes the truck to hesitate a bit. That never happened on the turbo truck. Not sure if that’s a tuning issue or something else.

I’m hoping to eventually pull the s/c off and go turbo on this truck once I get some other things sorted out. I’d like to install a GM IAT sensor so I can delete the MAF completely.

    A thing or two...
My guess would be that it's an acceleration enrichment setting that is too high, so it's adding too much fuel when it sees the change in the TPS.

That would make sense. I’ll look at that when I get a chance. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nice. Where'd you get those from? How much larger can your MAP3 tune for?

This is as crazy as my mapecu can do. They say they can do 200% of stock. I think they are rx8 injectors. I have the part number. Got it from an eBay seller called clean injection. I post up how tuning goes.

2tr is a different injector. They have a long style nozzle. I'm sure there is an off the shelf one that flows higher. Hit up fiveomotorsports see if they have ones that flow more than stock.

Good find. Good point of doing things yourself. You remember where potential problems may be lurking.

Totally. After posting I started thinking and figured it had something to do with wiring. As soon as I pulled the glove compartment off, I saw two exposed wires. Made for a quick fix.

I did a little more around town cruising speed, stop and go tuning with the Megasquirt VE Autotune function today. Smoothed out some areas and made down shifts and transitions through turns closer to seamless. It’s a really cool feature for that.

She running on 550cc. My front glass rattles really bad. Gotta tune the closed loop. Idle is good but the rest of it is super rich.

Smooth idle, judging by the frequency. At what rpm do you have it idling?

Still at the stock idle. Once the trims leveled out it got better. Haven't drove it yet. There is hope for the rest of the tune. Need to order an ebcs.
