Any reason you cant run the ram parallel underneath the tierod and run mounts on the diff cover/near diff cover and then the tierod clamp mount at the other end?

Then you just build some kinda small skid/tube from the axle tube up close to the ram.

Or you could use your idea of running the factory lower arm and put it behind the axle like the factory fj80s.

Looked at that, when fully extended the ram would hit the spring plate/ubolts. The other option I'm thinking is attaching it to the spring plate and pads on the pax side with some tabs. The ram would be extending opposite of your picture.

Yeah first option would be tight ram length wise extended. Mounting one side on the spring pad isn't a bad thought. U bolts could easily handle that pressure I would think.

I was able to mount mine on the diff almost centered. I offset the mount on the tube clamp so it would clear the u bolt plate. Took a little bit of time and messing with different ways but I was able to squeeze mine in there. Worth a shot atleast. And I set up the ram at 0* to the tie rod with the wheels straight on my new axle and I have zero flip/rotation in the tie rod and tie rod ends. On my old axle it was pushing at a slight angle and they would constantly flip and wear out.

EDIT: and I don't have a skid on mine although I do have some rock marks extremely close to it so may build one at some point. But that's a pretty big rock im hitting to hit the ram since its so high lol

The good part is, I can use the studs I ordered anyway. I figure mount the arm, tack the ram to the tube and start cycling the steering (with the ram dead of course) and see what happens. Worst comes to worst I'm out my time.

Pro tech tip: when installing a new steering box input seal, don't use a flathesd screwdriver and a hammer to "press" it into place, you will put a hole in it.

Finally have the last of the parts to hydro assist this truck. Thats tube to sleeve my tie rod, a tube clamp and a generic 3link bracket because I'm too lazy to Fab a ram mount. The box is already partially tapped, weather I did it right is another story LOL!

Pro tip: install the new seal kit correctly so you don't have to attempt to drill it out with a wood drill bit. Just got home from the hospital, bit broke and I drilled right into my knuckle.

    Stone sober btw.

Hopefully third time will be a charm sealing up this input shaft.

Almost cut my nuts off with an angle grinder when I was sober yard fabbing. A mistake I have never made again

Yea, couple of stiches and my hands all swollen up where I must have punched hand with the drill itself after the bit broke.

Hands back to about 80%, about to start tearing into this bastard again. 3rd times a charm on this damn box seal. Also got some cabinets for the garage, and need to get the truck emissions tested. This will be the first time in 4yrs that I'm not chasing codes before bringing it in.

Going wheeling a few times this fall, so now it's time for a SEMA style "I have 20,000 things to do with a few weeks to do it" build up. Going on 3 1 week long work trips before the first wheeling trip, making excuses to get out of going to a trade show, so that gives me one extra week....

Things to do before the 2nd week of OCT:
Start and finish this damn steering

Install and chain new motor mounts

Remove cone ring spacers from 3 of my beadlocks

    Get a new spare tire

Do a good once over/oil change

Move my air intake since my tire throws shit directly into it

    Good times....
