Ugh, that fn door frame. And the whole 2 kids under 2 makes you slooooow things way down even when it’s your birthday. It was just nice allowing my body to wake me up than a toddler screaming “ I want some more milk please mummy daddy.” I gotta get one of those “ok to wake” clocks.

 

Dropping the Mrs off at the airport for 2. Going into work for 545. Should be a wonderful night

I got a notification that my radio shipped from China 2 days ago
All the guys down here had theirs out this weekend listening to them...........I got to follow along in the group text

 

Jeezem order it out of a Sears catalog? Haha. So the tests are going alright?

 

I still have a test every once in a while where I fail. Most of the time I realize I either hit the wrong answer or didn't read the question completely. I have been able to go back and review the questions and have known 90% of the answers to the ones I messed.

 

Nice. That's the ticket. I was doing about 85-90% when I got up to taking the real test.

Today was pretty cool for me. Was dropping the Mrs off at the airport and we heard a call on a repeater. It was a special event on Plumb island up here ( very small island off shore ) and there gentleman had a very young youth group. 5-8 years old or so. He asked if we mind having a QSO with them. So they were getting a taste of talking on the radio. Was wicked funny. Not bad either. Had to be 35 miles to the repeater for them and another 15 to me.

 

From the group text I was reading, there was some decent chatter going on down here

 

So how long before you think you'll be shopping around for new radio toys. Haha

 

I hope this one will do me in for a while Like I said, I got it mainly b/c all the local guys got them and I didn't want to be left out I honestly doubt I will ever be somewhere that my cell phone doesn't work.

But again, I've spent more on this Tacoma in 4 months than I did on the TJ in 9yrs......so who knows

 

I 100% understand. What happened with me is I ended up hearing the local chat in the morning and it was pretty good conversation. My mag antenna did really well, but lacked some range with our hills. So I just said eff it.

You'll be just fine with that radio though. Tons of guys on our repeater use those still. I did actually get a new hand held tonight though. Figured since I'm into it, I should probably get a water proof one since we aren't really "fair weather only" outdoorsmen. Plus it does dmr so I can talk to the world. Which is kinda neat.

Btw, I'm still massively slacking on studying for me next test.

Ain't that the truth. I mean we have done a lot. But still. And when the nights are dropping to 65 you're knocking on the door of leafs dropping

 

I'm ready for cooler weather. This heat just makes anything out of water miserable

 

I bet. How are the seasons down your way? Typical new Englander here. No idea how it's like anywhere else unless your state touches the northern boarder
