Hopefully more pics from the others later today/tomorrow.

Unpack, let stuff dry out, clean up around the house n yard.

Love this thing. Shout out to @dirty deeds and @Jibbs for helping a brother out learning to wheel a stick.

It's all about the "feel" of the truck, off and on pavement. Definitely connects a person to their vehicle over an auto.

I honestly like the manual. I've have gotten the hang of it for the most part, 1st and 2nd are were I have problems when I do. The 1st gear topic is still what hangs me up the worst. I don't stall out constantly or anything, but I am still trying to get the feel right for exactly how to take off without stalling or lurching. Lot of times I'll goof up and I'll send the RPMs up to like 2/2500. I think I just get nervous trying to take off and worry to much about screwing up the people behind me.

2nd gear, the biggest problem I have is...when the fuck do I shift to it? Seems like I could shift anywhere from 5 to 15 mph. It's also 50/50 on smooth engagement, but that is a footwork issue. There seems to be this "sweet spot" of giving it gas, then releasing the clutch to where the truck doesn't feel like it's jerking when I move from 1st to 2nd (or 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, blah blah)

Other than those little things, I like it. Rush hour traffic is about the most annoying thing, but I stay back, a lot, and like to keep rolling. It keeps down on the start/stop, start/stop.

1st gear, you should be easing out on the clutch. Definitely in 1k or 1.5k rpm range when it engages.
Far as shifting into 2nd, you're right. Downhill, I can almost take off in 2nd gear and not even fuck with 1st. Uphill starts, I wind 1st to about 4k and grab second real quick.

Watch the tach, not the speedo so much. Take your gears to 2.5, 3, and 4k. You'll find the happy place for your truck and the terrain you're on. Like I said, eventually you'll feel and/or hear when to shift.

That rain of yours will be here today. I'll get to feel how shitty the KM2s are, once again, in the rain. But it doesn't bother me. After years of being a cheap bastard and having a couple 2wd trucks, you learn real quick to control a hydroplane with shit tars.
Shifting really doesn't have a lot to do with it except on take-off.

I'm just gonna hang out in here for a bit and keep to myself. Seems like a good idea. Keep my comments and opinions to myself and my own stupid thread no one looks at, so my rants about Ford Rangers and Fox shocks can go unnoticed. I should just buy a Ford Ranger and put the most progressive tuned Fox shocks I can on it and drive it all over the malls.

Had a fantastic time off roading in the little truck. Really excited to get out and do more. Got a lot of wheelin' to make up for, to much time spent riding in other trucks. I noticed off roading the manual that a few of the rules that apply with a 2WD truck, can easily be applied to a manual. Didn't seem to get in to many pics from the Rush trip with the little truck, the 3 I took seem to be about it, not much showing off, eh well.

Fuck Ford. Fuck Fox. Thanks. Have a nice day!

Rush is to far for a weekend ride. I need 3 day weekends on trips like that to make it worth it.
