Where’d you find the Spicer carrier bearing? All of the OEM u joints are Spicer, chances are, the OEM carrier is Spicer also. When I had to replace mine, all I could find was OEM and Dorran as options (or the solid mount custom options). I think OEM was around $160-170 if I recall.

It's interesting that Falken was brought up so recently; my company just picked them up as another brand we'll be carrying. It was announced yesterday that we should have some in stock in time for the fall snow rush. SO...who's got some recent experience with Falkens? Car or truck, we're going to be carrying them both. Our customers look to us for opinions on our products, and I haven't had ANY recent experience with them. Back when I was selling them they were black, round (mostly) and cheap, which about exhausted their list of superlatives. So who's got some info for me? Save me a trip around the internet trolling other forums for info

I have their wildpeak at3s and I like them alot. Not as good as toyo at2's but as good as KO2's IMO. And way cheaper than either of those options. I have about 9-10k miles on mine and have been happy with them. I have the E rated, but with the amount of sidewall on the tire it still has some cush.

I’ve had Falken Wildpeaks AT3Ws for 50k now. Love them and will most likely buy again. You can buy two sets for the price of Toyos and any of the other bigger brands. They perform amazing in all seasons. I lived in Florida before moving back here and have driven through tropical storms and never had an issue with slippage in heavy rains. Ran them daily from westfield mass to Bridgeport ct (roughly 90 miles each way) All last winter through the snow storms and never felt nervous or had any issue. They’ve ran well on light off roading. Didn’t take much of a hit if any on mpg from stock tires and I’m sure I can easily get another 20k miles at least out of them.

Biggest thing to stress again is PRICE POINT. These are so budget friendly for the overall performance. Now i do have these in a SL tire so I wouldn’t dare do any heavy off roading but they have served me well in anything I’ve needed to do off pavement.

    Hope this helps

Check out the new Cooper at3 4s( above pic). I just put them in stock size P-load on the wife's T4R. Previously she had Cooper atw which were great but maybe a little too soft/ cold weather biased. I got these from simple tire for I think $500 or so. They have pretty frequent 15% off sales and paired it with a Cooper $70 rebate.

The new design looks aggressive unlike the previous which looked like old man tires. But they keep the same basic tread design so they should be great on the highway/ road. Plus Cooper = 'mericah

Sounds like you need a tester! Tell you what, send me down a set of AT3s, I’ll run them and give you my review as I go. Free of charge even! I’m here to help

do you have any pics of what the sidewalls look like? If they have a little more aggressive sidewall then the old At3s I might end up going that route

I'd like it if we started carrying Cooper, but I think that the higher-ups are hesitant to bring in another American brand besides Goodyear.

    Thanks for the input, guys.

I'm going for either a standard load or a C for the F-150. The E-rated tires are awfully heavy, and I don't really need the extra durability or load rating.

Debating on going up to 33s. I do have the 3.73 gears which should make the extra diameter and weight much less noticeable.

I went to C load on mine, but stuck with the standard 275/65R18 size and 35psi. No problems with the ride after that I noticed. I agree that E load range on a half ton is just unnecessary.

That's what I'm leaning toward. That way the weight isn't a dramatic change from the factory Michelins, and the truck sits plenty tall as it is so I don't really need the extra 1/2" of sidewall.

I find these Michelins are great on dry surfaces and in rain, and they're quiet, but they're awful at anything else. Drove a dirt road home last night and I watched the traction light flash for every hill I went up. They also didn't feel too confident on a snowy road the one time it snowed since I have had this truck. They're Primacy XCs.

Interesting. The Wrangler Fortitude HT's that mine had on it were very confident in the snow, but once they broke traction it took longer than I liked for them to hook back up again, so I upgraded to the AT Adventures.

These Michelins look like something that would come factory on an Accord. I think they're designed with road noise and fuel economy in mind--not much else.

The Goodyear doesn't look that much more aggressive at all. Interesting the difference that different tread block shapes and sipe layouts can make.
