Hey whats up, here's some pics of my cookie cutter build.

Because of my career, its often easiest for me to do trips on the fly and solo. So my plan is basically to have this truck be able to get itself out of most situations without the help of anyone else.

Although there is someone that always comes everywhere with me, my 9mo old Belgian Malinois Daly (pronounced like Daly city).



I have a lot of backstory with Toyota's, and have been building them up for about 10 years now.

So back to the 2017. Plans are pretty mediocre right now, simple things like HC bumper and some sliders are the next up on the list. As far as it is right now, it's sitting on an OME lift on Falken 285/75's and a few other goodies here and there.



I'll get up some more pics and a list of the things I've done and will be doing soon.

So back to the thread, this is the truck shortly after I got it. A friend and I took the Tacoma and his 4Runner up to Tahoe. This poser pic was taken at the Rubicon staging area.



And as it sits now, doing some crawling at the dog park.



Short list of notable mods, theres more but pretty standard. Do you really need to know what brand shackles I use? Ok, they're Rhino USA. Down to it.

Quintessential overlander piece minus patches. Seriously, what is it with overlander and patches? I'll stay with stickers.


Spare tire relocated to the top of the rack until I have an RTT. Til then I happily sleep on the ground. Once I have an RTT and I figure out how it will mount, I plan on modifying the rack to accept the stock chain hoist and mount the tire under the RTT somehow.

Recently I took it to the Lake Hawley run, which was cool being able to do. I worked a 12 hour shift the day before, got home at 2300 and left at 0100. Got to the Plumas National Forest at 0500 or so and slept for two hours. So I was pretty grumpy and not the most talkative, however it was still a fun trip to help some people out and meet some new people. Unfortunately it was a quick run for me because of other things I had to take care of, so I had to leave right after we got done with the run.

I plan on getting a full OME kit, are you using the CB drop only and/or shims to remove the vibes?

 

I used the spacers for the carrier bearing and that was it. No vibes at all, but according to other peoples reports you may need to do some other additions.

 

Currently working a lot and saving up for my rear bumper and possibly a tent soon.
I ordered up some rock lights and they're at home waiting to be wired in.
I moved the tire to be more secure.
I took the old spare tire chain hoist and mounted it under the middle relentless bed rack bar to low my center of gravity as well as making it less easy to steal.

They are bright enough to show the underneath of the truck and what you're driving over, but not bright enough to blind you.
Install is pretty straightforward although time consuming from wiring under the truck.
I bought two kits, one for under the truck and one to install inside of the rack for bed lighting. I think I may tap in to the pre-existing truck bed light for that duty.



Also ordered up some SOSConcepts sliders, hopefully they will come in a few weeks.

 

best Mod so far is the Blue Cord, don't see many of those even though everyone is seal, ranger, SF, or some kind of sandbox hero, truck looks awesome brother.. have a buddy that a Belgian they are fantastic. Truck is coming along great man keep it up..

Got my sliders on and tested em out a bit in Plumas NF.



Had to take a bit more out of the cab mount so I could stuff some new tires.



We're out here on 35x12.5r17's now. FJ wheels. Gona toss some 1/4 spacers above the coils to get a lil more clearance. Nothing else is happening to this truck until I re-gear
