Agreed they are great sliders! I ordered some POR15, so I going to try that as a base/primer and put some gloss black paint over it. Seems like POR15 is made to stand up to the elements. Time will tell, the truck is more of a driveway queen anyways so I don’t expect a lot of scrapes and touching up.

 

Ended up with a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro in LH. Fairly cheap setup but reviews looked good, it shot well for me and was the right price. Happy to be set up for now and shooting!

Did two yesterday and two more this week. Pretty happy with my teams so far.

I have to Crossbreed holsters and have been very happy with both. I know people who went with AlienGear, which looked to be the same idea, and are happy as well. I carry my G26 a fair amount and never think twice about it. The 19 should be fine to carry.

 

Question for everyone.

What do you use for a trailer hitch locking/holding pin?

The one I was using is rusted to shit, was a locking one with a key, and doesn't look like it works properly anymore... the lock doesn't go into the other end anymore for some weird reason, and since it's rusted up, looking to replacing it and looking to see what everyone has/uses.

 

I have a locking pin, but, I only use that traveling, or when I'm going to leave my trailer unattended/out of sight, with something valuable on it, bike, etc.

Otherwise, a clip pin.

I never leave my hitch in the truck... I see you fought yours off.....

What brand and where did you pick up your clip pin?

 

I think most of them are Reese? One came with the shackle mount, so, whatever brand Smittybuild used.

Walmart, ORielly, etc...

I never leave my ball mount attached except when actually towing, so I use a Bolt Lock. It uses the truck’s ignition key to lock it which is why I bought it. I do keep a couple regular Reese or Curt pins in the truck like the one pictured above. They use a simple pin, no lock.

 

I grease my balls so that’s a really, really good reason to never leave it on. Not only would you get a sore shin, you get the added benefit of ruining your pants. I cringe when I see rusted tow balls, just unnecessary friction to the system.
