Who needs narcotics when they can have adrenaline for a much higher cost?

Look on eBay; that's where @loginfailed bought his. I don't remember what he paid but hopefully he'll see this and chime in.

I don’t know if he has 2nd gen ecu’s but @OVTune has 3rd gen ecu’s for $475. Maybe he has second gen too?

Well it sucks they haven’t responded yet. When I was hiring, we always let all candidates know where they stood. Sometimes it was good and sometimes bad but they always appreciated knowing.

I know your troubles...if I’m not smiling or laughing I have the same look. An if I do smile I get teased because I’ve got big horse teeth so ergo a endless cycle of self esteem issues..not really I’m super cocky an a arrogant douchse.

Whooooaaaaaaah. That's pretty high assuming that is the cost for used ECUs. Worth asking though.

I've noticed that the trend is for companies to contact applicants only if they're being selected to progress in the hiring cycle. Otherwise it's zero communication. I find that practice to be lazy, uncourteous, and unprofessional.

For 3rd gen, 475 for a new ecu is real cheap. I believe the dealer price is ~1200? I could be totally wrong tho. Just remember seeing a post that he was selling them pretuned

    depends on size/weight of it.

Also, if you want to tend the pit for that much time...

If you have the time, I prefer the taste of letting it roll on the pit the full time, but here's a couple quick options:

Smoker to 225°-250° (can do a hot and fast brisket too - youtube that)

put meat on with a temp probe and let it roll until you hit the "stall"

This is where the intramuscular fat starts rendering within the meat and the subsequent stall in temperature climb as this fat will "cool" the meat while rendering out. usually happens around 160° but can really happen +/- 10°. It can take an hour or up to multiple hours to push through this stall and start climbing in temp again.. Don't stress it, it's the name of the game. (hot and fast method will plow through this)

At this point (the stall) you can "Texas Crutch" or wrap the brisket in Foil to expedite the cooking process. The pros and cons of wrapping are it causes a softer bark as it will get steamed a bit while wrapped, but it does tend to give a juicier brisket, and it cooks faster.

If you do wrap, at this point heat is heat and you can do the oven or on the pit still.

Either way, add some liquid to the foil. Like a mix of Apple cider vinegar and wooster sauce, beef broth, beer... about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup.

continue cooking until internal temp is around 195°-200°. at this point, you want to check for doneness as temp is a loose guide. you'll want to probe :)D) the flat portion of the brisket to feel for resistance. once it's done the probe should feel little to no resistance. Think of warm butter.

could be 195° or could be 205°. If there is resistance or it feels tough, let it go another half hour and check again.

Once considered done, rest the brisket. This is one of the most important steps. let the brisket rest on the counter vented to let the residual heat escape. about 10-15 minutes should work. then wrap tight in foil again, wrap in an old towel and place in a cooler to rest for at least an hour. It will hold temp like this for 1-4 hours pretty easy if you need to wait for a specific time.

    slice and enjoy.

This is a quick rundown, but I do have a lot of pics and have been meaning to do a full writeup with pics... @Bigdaddy4760 is staying on me to do it though :D

If you have any questions ever, just let me know via here or text and I'll do my best to help out.

I actually like it, but then I eat crayons, so there's that. My replacements are in the works. Unless my boy in Hawaii sustained some damage. Then it might be a while.
