I heard that too, and when I did, I was skeptical to get the system, but I went for it and it shifts just fine!

Since my truck is the bulk of the conversation I’ll state my case. I ran wheel spacers very briefly on the front. I will be forever crucified for it, but you can’t run 16s on Maxtracs without them. The bumper was built exactly how I wanted it. Snug to the front of the truck, and I didn’t want to cut the cross member for the sake of front end strength. I have never gotten close to landing my truck on it’s face and I’ve never tried to drive over anything that required using the bumper to get me over. I’m not letting a 600 dollar bumper do the work my 5000 dollar suspension is supposed to do. Plus, my truck is substantially taller than most prerunners, because I run lift spindles. Which means my bumper is 4” higher than most prerunners.

Also, I live in Texas. My truck is being built to match where I live, which isn’t California, which is why I don’t run a skid plate that looks like a fat lip and Baja projects. I’m glad to have a truck that’s nice enough to be a show truck, but still hoons

Literally the first mod I did after putting the LT kit on was getting new wheels that would fit without spacers

It’s not a skid plate. It’s a bumper. This one has a skid plate under the truck. Because that’s where skid plates go...

    A thing or two...
You're a 3rd gen, so you're going to need different gears than a 2nd gen because your stock gearing is different. You also have the new 8.75 rearend, so your only choices are 4.88 and 5.29.

If you have the automatic transmission, you need 4.934 gears to match stock rpm/speed, but they don't exist. 4.88 gears will be under geared, and 5.29 gears will be over geared.

If you have the manual transmission, you need 4.486 gears to match stock. Again, they don't exist. Either of the two options available will be over geared. Just one worse than the other.

Yea stock gearing is 4.30 on 2.7 3rd gen's. 4.88 will probably be fine with my truck, wanted to see what others were running.

They turned my 4 banger into a little torque monster. I can almost get it rolling in 1st with no gas at all. With gas it’s got plenty of pep and is even able to gain speed in 5th gear
