Nice! Mine arrived yesterday also. I feel you on the antenna. I was planning on the roof but not sure now since the antenna's so short and I'll have the Prinsu installed soon.

Yea, I was thinking of putting it on the Prinsu and just using a piece of Stainless Steel Flatbar, cutting it to about 3 inches long, putting two holes in it and then using some carriage bolts and mounting it to one of the cross bars on the Prinsu. Then it would mag mount to that pretty easily. But since the wiring is so thin, not sure how it would stay held in the channel going up the side of the passenger side of the window. So not sure on that, maybe some dabs of silicon to hold it in place or something? If I upgrade the antenna, it would need to go on the hood so it would stay mounted and so I could just leave it on the truck and not worry about it being too talk for parking garages.

I found some mounts on The Antenna Farm that could possibly work instead. The Toyota Tacoma specific one through research only works driver side, so the MB8 one, may work on the passenger side of the fender and hood. The TM8 may also work, but I need to look at my hood as it would also work up towards the front of the windshield and not on the side, so that may not work since it is not flat across the hood.

So the only option may be getting the second option and making it work on the passenger side like I want, but will need to look into it some more.

Also saw some people using these on the hood.

This is a thread on TacomaWorld that I found about the Tacoma NMO specific mount - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/nmo-antenna-bracket-for-2nd-gen.149391/

Shooot, if you want to spend that Pelican money, go for it... I just have a Plano case as I did not want to drill 4 holes into a Pelican case to mount it on their.

But I keep my recovery gear in it, everything stays nice and dry up there and all locked up.

Ah yea, that is where I got mine, I bought a second one but never mounted it and ended up using it for a gun case.

Was going to put it where the Rotopax went and put the Rotopax somewhere else instead of on the Prinsu, and then use the other case for spare parts and tools.

You can mount two cases and either rotopax or maxtrax in the middle.

Or all three up front near the light bar, then put the rotopax perpendicular along the rear/above the XM antenna.

    Dude...

    Same here...

Once I figure out a route...

I will pretty much just give an outline of it in different forms.

Meal prep which consists of chicken, rice, some black beans, and roast broccoli. Then a Chobani Flip yogurt for desert.

I really would like to get a Switch Pro at some point... would make wiring in stuff a lot easier in the future for one... plus the switch panel from @Iggy no longer wanted to stay where it is supposed to, so I had to add the little pieces of on each side to hold it in place.

I used it a bunch this past weekend and so far love it a lot. Very clear comms, no issues with radio static or interference like I will sometimes get with a CB, once we figured out how to setup privacy codes and such between myself and a pair of handhelds we were good to go. I was not able to test out the distance on it really, but am planning on it when I go to Hot Springs in two weeks. I may even look at getting a cheap pair of handhelds as well myself to keep on hand as they worked great for spotting on the trail and such.

The install was also very easy, I used the included velcro to mount it under my passenger seat, I have the power going up to the center console and then up towards and over to the firewall and into a blue sea fuse box. The included antenna is just ran under the rear floormat, excess cable stored in the under seat storage, and then the antenna goes out the rear sliding window onto the roof. That will be changed as I have a better antenna and mount ready to get installed before going to Hot Springs.

But so far, way better than CB, way better.
