Decided to do a little write up on my Grom build. It was a learning process for me, still tinkering with it. The goal of the build was more power and an "Off Road" look. I live in a rural area so going off the asphalt is normal. Plus, when I go camping I can bring this along for a little trail bike[IMG]

When I first picked it up(used)

Parts starting to roll in. Tear down commenced
    [IMG]

    Getting ready for the BBK
    [IMG]

Since I'm going for an "offroad" Scrambler look, it was only fitting to mount Baja Designs new LP9 light. (12,000 lumens!) So I designed and 3D printed some brackets
    [IMG]

Wheels blasted and powdercoated. New seals, Ceramic bearings, etc
    [IMG]

    More parts!

    Motor assembled ready to fire!

I CNC'd out a quick skid plate. Still need to throw it in the powdercoat booth.

    And all back together[IMG]

Was only fitting that it had to Match my Tacoma
    [IMG]

And some final high res pics. Enjoy!

Awesome bike dude! That headlight is bonkers! Cool truck, too!

If you don't mind my asking, what's up with the wheels on your truck? They don't look like the average Toyota lug pattern. Whutchu runnin' there?

Hey Stu, what do you think about that Spyker aluminum swingarm? Is the weight difference hugely noticeable? Also how are the chain adjusters on it? Because the OEM ones are garbage

Edit: Also I'm gonna need one of those LP9 brackets :p

    this and that...
wow. looks killer. whats the top speed now with that bore kit in there? i been debating on picking up a grom ever since my friend been chirping on and on about his lol; something to fool around with. you know how it is. i remember more than several years ago i picked up a sym ddfitty from a tenant who was behind on rent. i ended up tinkering with it and ended up putting a bore kit in that puppy amongst other things. man that was a great thing to blitz around town with. im not a small dude by any stretch but that 72cc could get me up to 70mph like it was in something fierce. several months later, ole boy inquired if i was willing to part with the moped. i sold it back to him for what the back rent was at the time. was a great toy. hoping the grom can fill that niche.

That's freaking awesome!! Make me want to do this to my Z125 or Spade.

You need hand-guards though, really helps the dirt look. There a Grom here that has knobbies and hand-guards and such, looks great

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Good work Stew! I like the little mini off-roader. Now go Send It and take some pics lol
