This just gives me more reason to go big the first time around for a winch. Hear too many stories like this if go with anything other than Warne! it just adds to the price of a front bumper/winch combo! Glad you were able to help out and not get stranded.

I had absolutely no complaints about that smittybilt until today. It's always done right by me and even though I feel like it was my fault that it burned out, I'm absolutely confident that the 12,000 lb warn I ordered today would have done the job with no problems. When im up shit creek and 20 miles from civilization, I don't wanna have to rely on a winch that will probably work. I can't say if that's the right decision for everyone, but if you have the money for it, I say buy once cry once.

And just FYI, the 12,000 lb warn is the same size as the 8 or 10 so it will fit in a bumper. That's why I went with the 12. Paid an extra $100 over the 10 but fuck it, better to have it and not need it!

Daaaaaaaammmmmnnn! Sounds like an eventful weekend! With a 12k winch you might want to consider something like these.....

If I remember, you were succesful the first day for dove! So not a total loss! Any time you fill a bag limit is a good season!
I understand what you are saying, and glad to know the 12 is no bigger than the others! I go hunting alone much of the time so I want something reliable just for that fact. I have gotten myself into some precious situations looking for or helping people get downed elk/deer out. Just wish it was my tag that was being filled!!!

IMG_0298.jpg Just got home from Page and Monument Valley. Traffic from Sedona to 169 was all kinds of fucked. Worst I've seen since moving to AZ. Took over an hour to get from 179 to 169 on 17 South.

On another note, just got my Tunes 360 headphones in the mail. Totally forgot I ordered a pair. Not bad sound for whatever we paid.

Good call. I didn't even think about the mounting plates but seeing as how I'm gonna have to drop the bumper to install the new winch, there's no better time to do this

I don't print stickers, can only cut vinyl.

Might be able to do it if it's not too complex.
