Anyone else have a quick jerk when accelerating after coasting? I really didn't notice it that much before but after putting a few hundred on it over the weekend with ~500lbs more than normal, it's driving me nuts and I can make it happen 80% of the time.

Basically happens when coasting on the freeway around 55-60 in 5th or 6th, when I get on the gas a little the truck bucks fairly hard before it starts going. Feels like drivetrain slop or a bad mount somewhere...

As a side note, the surging issue I've had is about 10x worse with 4 people and a bed full of camping gear too. Definitely making a trip to the dealer soon.

Yeah I'm aware of that for the surging but this bucking (a jerk is probably a better descriptor) is just once on that initial acceleration. Going in to the dealer after I get home from vacation and hopefully they'll give me the update. It might just be an issue with the throttle mapping or something that could be resolved.

Just came back from a road trip with highway traffic. I noticed this jerk depending on speed and what gear I'm in. Feels like normal drivetrain slack to me. I notice no hesitation, but do notice a jump in power around 3500rpm accelerating.

It fixed my bucking issue also.

Only one I have is going from 1st to 2nd, seems like the update would help

you should at least take a look at that software update thread. the TSB for this was incorrectly written, and most at the shops see that update for AT's only and won't provide it for MT's. some owners have been able to work past that problem in various dealers. it may or may not be so simple for you... until Toyota gets the TSB info corrected.

Did you ever get this done and did it help? Seems like I have the same issue as you did. Going from 1-2 bucks like crazy, when the truck is cold it’s even worse.

Never asked, I've got a bit over 7k now and it's pretty much gone away except when its cold

Read a couple threads that not long after the update the truck relearns and goes back to normal ways
