So. I opted for the GlassCoat on my Tacoma & based on my experiences with the same on my former Tundra was not all that impressed (on the Tundra....they missed a spot & had to go back to reapply it). Even on the Taco...I really examined it on my original pickup day & I found where the "new guy" had applied the GlassCoat over water spots, sealing in little cloudy spots(mostly on the roof...did they think I would not get up in the bed to look???)
The dealership, of course, buffed it off & refinished it.The overachiever in me wants to put SOMETHING on my truck. Wax? Sealant? Some type of spray polish? Wisconsin winters are hard on our finishes & I was this brilliant blue finish to look it's best.

Waxes are a waste of time. They don’t last but a couple weeks.

I would go with a sealer that will give you 6-12 months of protection.

I think if you have a quality coating that is slick, a sealer is probably a waste of time and money.
If you have a shitty coating that wasn’t applied right and is not slick then you probably will benefit from a sealer.

I’m not sure why you keep buying a product that you don’t trust and certified idiots keep installing.
Coatings are very expensive. You want to have trust in the product.

X2. I use McKees paint coating, and refresh after washes with blackfire sio2 spray. Cant remember the last time i saw a water spot or non beading paint.
If I want my paint glowing, ill use pinnacle souveran spray from time to time as a topper.

I would look into the blackfire stuff as a spray detailer, or meguiars synthetic express if you want to be more budget conscious and get a ridiculous shine.

Coatings will last the longest but for some can be tough chasing high spots and are best applied to perfect paint. Duragloss 601/111, Collinite #845,#915, Sonax PNS are a few known for there durability and ease of use.

For me I've had great results with CarPro CQuartz UK and Blackfire Si02 spray sealant.

Thank you all for your insights. I will look into those products. I must say, this GlassCoat is behaving very diffrently than the one supposedly applied to my 2017 TUndra. The Taco's water beading is far more apparent & I think they did a better job. But I still want some additional protection from abrasive conditions (tree branches, gritty roads)

    Is it GlassCoat or GlossCoat?

Sealers and waxes offer no protection from those things. And honestly, a ceramic coat really doesn’t either. Maybe only to slight pinstriping but rock chips and tree branch scratches are by any other name... they’ll go through the ceramic coat as quickly as paint.

I think you are looking more for a full on Line-X paint job lol.

Watch this video and listen to what Nick says. You can use this on your GlassCoat. I love the stuff myself. I think it is the greatest stuff to come around since Lucky Charms cereal. Waiting on a 25% off w/free shipping and I'm popping on a gallon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqZD0dN_3jM
