    ...stuff
I learned in a foam pit, they are pretty easy on a BMX bike, but I think my 27.5 mtb is a little harder to whip around in the air. I don’t think I’ll be trying it anytime soon.

    Got a couple questions...

Got a 2019 OR DCSB on order.

Looking to mount my bike (specialized camber 29”) in my bed with a fork mount. I’m looking at the Driveshaft Track from Rocky Mounts. Is there a track already in the front of the bed or do I have to order one, or can I use a track from the side?

Also has anyone been able to close the tailgate with a 29er mounted this way? Possibly with a bracket to raise the mount up to get move room?

The '17 Taco didnt come with a front rail, so I suspect the 19 wont either.. they're about $40 on Amazon. I can get a 27.5 in with the tasilgate closed, but i have to have the fork mounted at the left or right side and then angle the back of the bike to get it to close, so I suspect 29er would be even tighter. I dont think I could fit two 27.5 in via fork mounts, so I just use a tailgate pad or thule rack 99% of the time.

I'm using a delta mount, on a front rail that I snagged off Amazon, and the hardware too....

    Yep, mine closes no problem.

And I know, mine is nothing compared to some(most?) on here.... hence I haven't posted before now.20180825_181129.jpg 20180823_173759.jpg

Anybody running the Diamondback mason 1? Looking at entry level mountain bikes that I can also take on the street.

No more head rail track on the 3rd gens.

You shouldn’t have any problem closing your tailgate. I can load my 29+ and my wife’s 27.5 using forkmounts. Both bikes have to be angled slightly, but I can close the tailgate no problem.

I have a 2016 DCSB. Toyota dropped the front bedwall track for the 3rd gens (2016-18) but the 2nd gen part fits and is readily available online for less than $50. Our trucks even have the mounting screws already installed in the bedwall.

I have my road bike 9mm QR mounts attached to that track, but I have Kuat Dirtbag thru-axle mounts screwed to a board spanning the floor at the front of the bed. It’s a long story, but I wanted our mountain bikes lower since that’s what we usually haul. Anyway, my size L Santa Cruz Tallboy and my wife’s medium Ibis fit just fine with the tailgate closed, so I’m sure your Camber will too. Although with the fork mounts raised to the bedrail height, and mounted horizontally instead of upright, the rear wheel may move back a tad. But if this long & slack trend continues bikes may soon outgrow the 5’ bed.

Sorry if this has been covered but I didn't find anything when I searched. I see there's many creative, and less expensive, ways to carry bikes. However, I chose to use RockyMounts. I installed the rail (PT278-35100-BH) and found the RockyMounts DriveShaft Track Locking Thru-Axle Mount wouldn't mount flush. Noticed the upper bed rail (square cross section; 65409-04010) mount isn't symmetrical so I took the rails off, flipped the upper bed rail around, and installed the rails again. The rail (PT278-35100-BH) now sits "proud" of the top rail and the RockyMount installs / functions as expected.

Is there a reason they discontinued the track on the front of the bed??

I think it has something to do with a Tonneau Cover

I think for the same reason they deleted the map pocket behind the driver’s seat, at least on the TRD seats. $ave$ a few cent$ and no one notices until after they’ve bought the truck.

I'm in the process of buying a double cab, long bed Tacoma and i'm trying to figure out how to carry my bike(s) I plan on getting a tonneau cover and would like to have the bikes on the bed rails without needing crossbars but I haven't found any options. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Putting a fork mount on the front track if you're buying a 2nd gen (putting a track on the front if you're getting a 3rd, of the bed as others have said is pretty cheap) works with a roll up tonneau.

you can get cheap fork mounts on Amazon along with the slot nuts. Thats my setup, and it works great for my road bikes. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it right now. If you're interested, I can try to remember to take a few for you when I get home from work tonight.

for my mountain, I have this:

^^^I don't have a great answer, but I tried to fork mount my tallboy in the my SB and it would only fit if I mounted the fork mount on the top of the bed, not inside. Not sure that will help.
