So that was 5 minutes of really violent rain. So glad I'm working from home today.

I took some melatonin last night to help me sleep and I guess I took it too late or didn't sleep long enough so I'm feeling foggy today.

It's been raining here like a cow pissing on a flat rock...and my MIL 9 miles away is dry as a bone.

That's an old expression. I just cleaned it up from my grandfather, who'd say it was "raining like a two-cunt cow pissing on a flat rock."

Which, aside from the intricacies of multi-vaginal bovine urination, definitely creates an image.

So I have an awning on my truck... and I am SO glad I did not go with the little 4' awning. @riz_atx had the short one from CVT and I think he is getting rid of it, it just doesn't provide any shade. Mine is 6.5' and it provides a fair amount, but I almost wish it could have been longer. It is even with the back of the cab so I can use my RTT, but it sticks out about 18' past the cab in the front. You can't even see the end of it sitting in the drivers seat though. YMMV, but I almost consider one that short a waste for what I'd use it for.

    Picture of mine open:

Better picture to see how far past rack it sticks out:

Ahhhhhh-greed 100% Get the longest one you can, the amount of shade will be worth it!

badass, thanks for the info guys. I've got a camper shell so I can make it push farther back and not have to worry about it obstructing anything.

How exactly do you mount it to the rack? Have to fab anything?

I used the awnings included L brackets with some carriage bolts in the prinsu's load bars.

I did not have to fab anything. I used the L brackets it came with along with carriage bolts in the prinsu like @riz_atx below. I did however, flip the L bracket so the short leg of the L was BESIDE the rail for the prinsu instead of above it.. saved me a few inches in height to make it into the garage better.
