    I was surprised that after the Nemesis debacle that there was not a movie that featured a combined Voyager/DS9 cast.

    Pretty sure it is digitally inserted. The clip with the alien executive officer they show the crystal but the original had a padd.
    Is the crystal part of the premise for the new series?

    Yes. Studio is cash strapped thanks to the licensing issues between two idiot corporations and other problems. Hence the pay cuts for Pine and Hemsworth. Rest of the crew reportedly is out as well, we will see. Can’t see the movies doing well at this point

    Not the only reason, but sure didn’t hurt. Getting rid of Jennifer Lien was a good move. Her character was either under written or her acting was bland as hell.

    I'm a diehard TNG, DS9 and VOY fan. I couldn't make it more than a couple episodes into Enterprise because of 1) Scott Bacula and 2) that HORRID abomination of a theme song. I'm trying discovery as we speak but the whole "spore drive" BS and the bad Klingon interpretation have me struggling to finish the season.

    So today I comforted myself with a TNG marathon while I did my soundproofing.
