Was wondering what you guys were running and if you've had any trouble with C-loads on the trails here.

Most of us run E because it’s the only option for 33” tires. I’ve never read much bad in the way of C. It’s all how the tire sidewall is made, and that’s independent of load rating index.

Not all true. You can get C rated in
    255/75r17
    285/70r17
    35x11.5x17
    40x13.5x17
    those are trail grapplers

I don't think anyone in the Hawaii section needs or makes full use of E rated tires. Where loads justify running 60-80 psi. C rated tires cant handle as much load, but should be lighter.

“Should” be lighter, but not every time. Example, Nitto Ridge Grappler.

Weight of C vs E are the same for a few of the sizes like 285/70R17.

    Sauce:

Does anyone know if there are 35x12.50 in load C? I guess I could have gone 35x11.5 but not a fan of Nitto Trail Grapplers. LOL.

And as for needing or making full use of load E...that could be said about a lot of our mods. No one needs 35” tires, SAS, or a supercharger; but...it sure makes it fun to personalize our trucks. :D

I think bfg has a c load 35 (tires that come with raptor from the factory)...they still weigh alot tho

I said most. 17” wheels are a different story, and still few and far between.

Like @seoulja99 said, Nitto C rated are just as heavy for the most part.

That is why I wrote "should" be lighter and not will be lighter.

    You said
    "Most of us run E
because it’s the only option for 33” tire"

I read it as most (people) run E
    E is only option for a 33

and yes, there are a greater selection when dealing with 17s

A lot of the tires larger than 33" are available in load C/D because of Jeeps. 33s are a common tire for full size heavy duty trucks, so that's why you see so many in load E.

    My 37s are D.
