I am semi new to the area and getting back into climbing after taking 5 months off due to an injury. However, I currently have nobody to climb with so I am stuck bouldering. Anyone interested in doing a bit of climbing? I came from Florida so most of my experience is indoors, but I am wanting to get outside some too. I have a membership at the new EarthTreks in Englewood, can lead, have a rope and draws, and typically climb in the 5.9-5.10 range. I run a small recruiting business from home, so I am pretty much free to climb whenever.

I just got back in the gym after breaking my toe earlier this year. But I'm more of a newbie, learned how to climb outside, but don't have any ropes or gear for climbing outdoors.

But I'm in the mountains and either climb in BV or Breck at the gym when i find a chance.

I had a similar injury, a bad sprain of the ligaments in my big toe. I guess its called turf toe. Picked up a super stiff pair of La Sportiva's a few days ago that really seem to help take the pressure off my toe so hopefully it won't recur. I will probably be out your way tomorrow or Friday, thinking about doing the west ridge of Quandary. But I doubt I will feel like climbing after that.

Oh yeah my big toe waa broken on a dirt bike. Didn't reset it so i can't use the front of that foot for climbing, have to catch the side.

Not sure what i have planned for the rest of the week.

idk what you are climbing in now, but check out the katana lace and TC Pro. Sounds like you need something similar to me. I went with the katana lace, super stiff but still good for edging and comfortable. I went to the La Sportiva factory store in Boulder and explained my problem and tried on a bunch of shoes and that's what they recommended.

I just use some inexpensive la sportiva i think. I don't climb enough to justify new shoes. Was hoping to get back to Vancouver/squamish where i learned, but that'll be next year since its getting colder now.

I’ve climbed out of bed against my better judgement for the last 37 years, you could say I’m an expert

Oh yeah, i think on the Mountain project app, there is a message board thing where you can post in this area for partners.

And i joined "Arkansas valley climbers coalition" on Facebook after seeing a flyer at Peak fitness in bv

Check out Denver Social Climb on meetup.com/facebook/etc. They operate out of all the gyms in the area and have meetups at least twice a week.

    @DaWillDaBeast

I'm down in the springs so I don't know how worth it is to you to come here, but I'm an avid bouldererer. I also work at one of the gyms here as a route setter and do some coaching from time to time. I climb in the V8 range. Not much for ropes, but can climb 5.12.

During the better outdoor season I'm often up north bouldering. Guanella Pass, Mt Evans, Morrison, Alderfer, etc.. I also go to Utah at least once a year and New Mexico a handful of times.

I haven't climbed in several years and am a complete noob. Was taught outdoors doing top rope I believe. I shattered my shoulder and broke my collar bone a few years back and it never healed properly so I am a bit of a gimp, but I find climbing makes me force full motion of my left shoulder.

Again, I am a complete noob, but I have a harness and some La Sportiva climbing shoes. Also work for myself so if I'm not too busy I wouldn't be opposed to learning again. I live on the west side of Denver.
Oh, I am also a fat ass and out of shape and for some reason I have this weird fear about climbing down.

I might be able to climb on a Sunday here and there. Prefer outside. I have enough gear to lead short routes. I generally don't lead past 5.9. Sadly it's been since spring since I've been out.

You do realize Bishop is only another days drive from Joe's right? Hit me up when you decide to add Bishop to the list of yearly destinations. We've got a few 4x4 trails as well that have some unknown, unnamed boulders that I've done tons of FA's of.

Haha yup, and MOAB isn't too much out of the way either. I want to get to each. I go to Joe's for their Bouldering Festival. I won nearly $700 worth of climbing/bouldering gear and stuff in their raffle this past year. I try not to miss that event lol!

I don't like taking too many 6+ hours away trips cus I got a 9 month old at the house right now. That and I usually only take 3 day weekends to keep from draining my PTO, which doesn't give me a whole lot of time to climb quantity.

Sorry, I fell off the map here for a bit. But I would be down to do some bouldering for sure. I typically just avoid it because every time I do it, I feel like I hurt myself (might be getting too old). I don't mind driving for climbing at all, we are occasionally down that way climbing at shelf. Since my first post I've gotten a lot of experience leading outside, and I'm starting to make the transition to trad. Super excited about that so I can get on some of the longer alpine multi-pitch routes.

She runs. What more can I ask for?
I am also down in The Springs. I've taken more time away from climbing than I'd like but I am getting back into it. I have a membership at CityRock. I boulder and top rope but I prefer bouldering.
