If you're going to spend that much on a sliding compound miter saw, I suggest getting the Dewalt DWS779. It's a 20 dollar difference between a Harbor Freight tool and a name brand. I know what you're thinking, though...this is HF saw is compared to the DWS780. The only difference between the DWS779 and the 780 is the XPS light. The light can be added to the 779 with a little work and a bit more money. I think it was around 60 bucks for the parts last time I checked. Something to look into :)

    I have a 780. Hell of a saw.

Anywhere near that price and I’d buy name brand.

I know I wouldn't have a problem using one if these motors. If motor mounts and shaft size are different, it would not be hard to fab what you need.

I'm sure the Kawasaki motor is 4 times expensive.

For $20 you can buy the replacement warranty on the HF motor.

Damn good point. And I love my Dewalt circular—cuts like a champ.

I had a smaller, but commercial grade kawasaki go out on my mower. I was given several prices of about $1750 installed by a couple of dealers.

HF is good if you know what your looking at. I think that motor is a bit overpriced for what it is.

I don’t visit this thread very often, but here’s a 20% Off coupon from my local paper. I know the codes can be different from coupon to coupon, but hopefully someone here can use it.

Honestly you don't need these. While you're on line just google HF coupon on your smart phone and one will pop right. Never had it not work. I've stood on line with everyone doing the same thing. It's kinda funny.

And I'm sure it's been mentioned but just bought a box of the 5mil nitrile gloves and they're gtg.

If we're in the spirit of posting coupons, have some freebies on me.

Also, still curious if anyone out there has any recommendations for spout that fits the HF 5gal/20L gas can? The spring one sucks.

Unless you're a Luddite like my dad who still prints MapQuest directions :anonymous:

+1 for the gloves. Also their latex-dipped work gloves are great and only $2 each. I have pairs for auto work, gardening, woodworking, etc.

The latex dipped work gloves are great for the money just don’t leave them out in the sun for more than a day or the latex turns into a sticky mess. Learned that the hard way.

My old 20 gallon air compressor is giving out on me. I started looking online and the closest manual is 5 models newer. It's from 1973 so this thing was old. I installed the HF app on my phone and sure enough there was a coupon for the 29 gallon oil filled for $329.

What is this HF app you speak of? I don't see any results for Harbor Freight when I search for apps on my iPhone.

The metric drill tap deburr is not very good in my opinion/experience. Used cutting oil low and slow right amount of pressure and could not get the bit to make an M10 hole reliably. 1st one it worked. Second one it broke.

Nope didn't run it too fast or hard wasn't smoking and had good long metal curls coming out until it gave up.

My opinion drill and tap by hand don't bother with these.

Bought the "dremel" last week. It has 6 speeds. 5 and 6 work great, the rest don't exist. I was able to get the job I bought it for done no problem. I need to swing by Harbor Freight and either return it or exchange it for a different one.

So, I was installing a custom grill in my second gen. I was using the saw blade kit for the rotary took with 4 different saw blade. Well, the centering of the blade was not the best. (No big surprise from H.F.. stuff is hot or miss sometimes) any ways, I was cutting out the old grill 99% cut. Had to go back and re-cut some spots that re-adhered. The blade caught and the shaft bend to 70-80°. The rotary tool was shaking and flopping around in my hands uncontrollably, like a jack hammer. Two thoughts went through my mind like lightning, 1: FU€K, I'm going to lose an appendage! 2: how the hell am I going to make this thing stop! I managed to hit the off switch with my little finger. Lol
I have never seen something like that. I would have expected it to break the blade not bend the shaft.
That experience either took 5 years off my life or increased my cardio, cause my heart rate was 200+ for a few minutes lmao!!!
