According to this article (found on Reddit), they are finally going to open the doors to AA.

Of course they are, because my truck is arriving in a couple weeks...

It's only on select models for now. It'll be a bit before you see it in the Taco.

Yeah I didn't expect it immediately, of course, or even this MY, but at least it is in the pipeline and should get to us eventually.

Wonder if there will be a way to upgrade or at worst swap HU.

I wouldnt be surprised if it's as simple as a software update.

Since they are already putting in CarPlay in some vehicles, I'm sure they'll put both in their systems just like (mostly) everyone else already does.

If you're actually serious, Android Auto is standalone. You don't actually need a vehicle
When I worked at Hyundai, Android Auto came standard in Sonatas, but halfway through the year, Apple got Carplay roll out ready, and they just updated via USB by service technicians. Later in the year, for the other models, they just made the update available to customers to do, themselves via download. I'm hoping it's that simple as well.

Same with Ram. Got it via software update.

I can't wait for this to make its it to the Tacoma. Not that I use it that much - but it will kill one of the most frequently whined about issues on TW.

    Next up, rear disc brakes!

Honestly, the biggest two things I love it for is actually being able to reply to texts with more than quick replies, and Google Maps is way better than the stock system. Plus, you can use it while you're moving without it being a pain in the ass. For music, I still use bluetooth since I can control it all with the steering wheel buttons. I'm not holding my breath for the rear discs, lol.

I actually prefer the free satellite GPS service in my Taco vs chewing up my limited data plan. I hope they don’t wipe that out!
