I just used self tapping screws and inset them in a little so the holes aren’t really visible when I take the flares off.

Thanks for the info - facing the same dilemna right now.

What tire size and rims/offset are you running? It doesn't look like your tires stick out much.

Yeah they really don’t stick out much (imo the tread doesn’t at all), but well, not my call.

My tires are 265/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja mtz and rims are 16x8 konig countersteers.

My stats are identical except I have 17s and they told me the same thing. Now just need to mock up the garden flares or get extenders from Napa.

I passed with a 265/65 in a previous iteration before moving to 255/75 and now to 265/70. My gripe is that they’re not consistent. I think had guys that have passed with 285s and no garden edging needed. Oh well, luck of the draw.

I passed with 285s on 18x9s with garden edging on 1 rear fender cause that prick told me just the one tire stuck out by a 1/16th of an inch. Lol

That’s incredible it would go that far. You must have gotten the same guy as me. He said my passenger side front was the only side where it “looked” like it was sticking out.
Most of us on here are not rockin’ the “Hawaii” look, which imo this rule is really applicable to.

Does this mean you are required to have the modified fender flares on at all times?

Crap, I'm running same size tire and rim combo. I should just get Bushwacker flares and not worry about nothing.

I thought about getting new flares but figured I’d try with what I got first, I’ve never had a problem with cops stopping me for recon *knock knock* so I’m not too worried about driving around without the garden liners.

I kept them and labeled them for when safety comes around again though.

Wow, definitely subjective. I passed recon a couple weeks ago with stock flares running 275/70/17 on 17x8.5 with 0 offset.

Yes, just need to note it on recon paper for rear bumper modification after market steel bumper.
