I’m trying to buy a fire extinguisher for my truck. Something I can bolt on to 2” tube. What is the best options you guys are running. Would like to have type ABC for sure. I drive a lot in remote back country with little cell service for no good reason. But I don’t want to make anything custom.

Should be an ABC of course. Probably anything from Kidde is fine.

Best to have 2. One inside, one outside.

There are lots of aftermarket brackets to mount directly to a roll bar but many of them are overly expensive. Depending on what kind of bracket comes with your extinguisher, you can just clamp it to tubing with hose clamps, or get a small chunk of C channel and bolt the ext bracket to it, and clamp the C channel to the tubing. No need to overthink this. Simple is better.

The braketeer is cool. Its $60 but its pretty versatile, you can mount it a million different ways

I find the Bracketeer works pretty well. I have a 2 pound Amerex Halotron mounted forward of the passenger seat. The idea of Halotron is that it leaves no residue so there is not a big mess to clean up afterward. I would only use it if it was a very minor fire, otherwise I would let the truck burn to the ground, because, hey, new truck.

It looks like the extinguisher intrudes a lot into the foot space, but in practice people don't notice it at all. With my Amerex I find sometimes one of the retaining straps gets loose because the handle flips up, might have to do something about that at some point.
