Got new shoes! We have been driving a lot more highway miles these days. It's not called the big island for nothing I can buy a lot of gas for the price of a Prius

These are a little taller and more narrow than the 275/65/18 load E duratracs. Also lighter and smoother. Should get a one or two MPGs back. Also gonna be a lot quieter. Will report back after I get them mounted and balanced. These also have a 60K mile warranty! Lots of good reviews on these. And I've read a few threads on t4r.org with positive results on other 4runners.

 

So it's been a few weeks since we got the new tires, and they have been great on the highway. Super smooth and quiet. Our house is over 4,000' elevation, and town is down at sea level about 30 miles away, so that's quite climb. We also have to drive over saddle road a few times a week which is 6,600 feet. We have been getting 18.5-19 mpg average per tank. These are slightly taller than stock at 32.6" tall, so that's pretty good considering all the hills we have to climb. Gonna test them off road on some easy trails this week maybe.
