In need of good sounding muffler

    2006 SUPER WHITE ACLB MT, TRD OR, TP, SR5
    Total stereo replacement, TRD Exhaust, Fox 2.0 coilovers, 2.0 reservoirs with an AAL in rear for about 2.5 inch lift, gunmetal TRD 4Runner wheels wrapped in K02
    So my dad borrowed my taco, got ran off the road by a school bus. Luckily no damage but one of the hangers on rear end side of the stock muffler was pulled off leaving a kinda noisy hole. I’m looking for a muffler that is throatier but not too loud since my truck has 4.56 gears. Any recommendations

    Stock or TRD catback unless you really want to end up regretting it later and buying stock anyway.

    No matter how “throaty” of a muffler you get it still sounds like a “6”, It’ll never sound like a powerful V8. I cringe when I hear someone with a 6 trying to sound powerful or throaty. I have a 65 vet and that sounds throaty. My Taco sounds like it is and you know it is what it is.

    Look no further than dirty deeds BAMufflers. Give Keith a call and he'll help you out. He makes amazing custom exhausts, built to order, bolt on, sound great (he guarantees the sound, if you don't like it you can send it back), you won't lose low end power like you do with other mufflers. Best part is no drone in the cab. Well worth the price.
    There is no way to get that V8 sound from your V6 but this sounds pretty good to me.

    All the usual diesel truck mods- fuel system upgrade, programmer, CAI, intake manifold, j hooked waste gate
    I did the TRD catback a few years ago and I’m really happy with the quality and sound. I got a great price from my local dealer (matched online price) so I couldnt pass it up. It’s 1 piece so it’s pretty long. Worked out better to put it into my wife’s suv just to get it home.

    I went with the MBRP S5328AL after seeing a lot of positive reviews and watching a couple video reviews on YouTube. That's the key in my book.. try to find a video review with good sound quality, which isn't easy, and make a choice based on that. I've seen all kinds of posts saying tacos sound like garbage no matter what, you'll regret whatever u install, stock is the only way to go... but it depends on what qualifies as garbage to you lol. I love the way mine sounds now wouldn't dream of going back to stock. I think that model is available in single and dual, I went with the duals but the singles I've heard in videos sound just as good imo.

    After a ton of research, I just ordered the Jones Exhaust JT2525XL myself and a matte black TRD exhaust tip.

    Keeping it simple.

    It's not a bad exhaust. Debateably overpriced but it sounds good. Remember that it will get deeper and louder with time.

    I also like Borla, I had a catback on my Tundra 5.7, it sounded damn good. I have Borla on my commuter car, Scion tC, and it sounds good, not raspy, it surprisingly has a deep tone. Many people think the car has a bigger engine than a 4cyl.
    Has anyone replaced the stock muffler with a Borla muffler? Is the TRD built by Borla? I don't see a catback Borla for my 2015.
