Built mine off my all pro bumper. The bumper was internally braced so I wasn’t worried about it supporting the swingout. I have zero shake or bounce when driving on/off road. This one will actually be for sale soon since it won’t fit my 3rd gen.

It's not hard to add a swing out if you have the right tools and Fab skills.

I like this. Is the output of the rear camera close to the output of the tailgate handle location?

Why even bother with an aftermarket rear bumper?!? Just attach a swingout to the body/bed like I used to see on 80's and 90's SUVs like the Bronco II my parents had...

It was pretty close, I had it angled down like the OEM spot.

I’ve actually thought about doing this. I did the math and it looks like the swing arm from a late model blazer would work. You’d obviously have to internally brace the corner (or most likely build an entirely new substructure behind the bedside) for the weight which might make this way more work than it’s worth for most people. That picture looks like the bedside is notched for the swingarm to go through and mount behind the sheet metal. If this is actually you or someone you know, I’d be really interested to see how it was accomplished.

It would probably be “easier” to attach it to the tailgate and brace the backside of that vs the bedside. I say easier but still a lot of work.

Let me clean it up and get some pictures, I don’t really know on price yet but I’ll work on that too.

Instead of a latch I used a grade 8 bolt and welded a the ears of a cv joint I broke for a handle. Looks different, cheap and it’s super tight comepared to a latch.
