I'm looking for some new dash lights for my 04 tacoma and really don't know what kind to get. I want some LEDs, but don't know what colors would be the best. Feel free to shoot me some ideas.

I also am looking for some red map lights as well so if anyone knows where I can get those that would be great!

I just did all the interior lights in my 00 Tacoma. I went with www.superbrightleds.com. Just plug in your truck info and they will tell you what bulbs go where. My instrument cluster took 4x 194 canbus 5smd in natural white, hvac took 2x 74 3smd bulbs cool white, ignition light takes 1x 74 3smd I chose red to mix it up, glove box takes 1x 74 3smd, and ash tray takes 1x 74 3smd. superbrightleds.com has a lot of choices and they incredibly fast to process and ship orders. They are a great company to deal with.

    Cliffs:
    Instrument Cluster: 4x 194 bulbs
    HVAC: 2x 74
    Ignition ring: 1x 74
    Gloved Box: 1x 74
    Ash Tray: 1x 74

I really like the white LEDs - to hell with that stock orange/red, never again

cell pics suck but you get the idea and no, not blinding at night. These are SuperBrightLEDs by the way

Do the a/c and recirc buttons luminate white on the white 4runner panel you have or did you have to modify those to make them white?

Not white but green. It's like the old school camry/corolla green. Don't have a pic of it but can get one tomorrow if needed.

nothing yet. At some point I need to pull it and use the space for a couple of switches. It's on the to-do list... one of these days :notsure:

Give it a go. I seem to recall a product out there somewhere where the LED was a multi-color LED and could be controlled remotely. Not that I want to feel like I'm in some 80s video game arcade... I think it was superbright who was selling it (?)

    EDIT:
Wait, I think that was more gallery lighting (under console) :bored:

When I was tracking down info on the 4Runner HVAC controls, I seem to recall the AC and RECIRC couldn't be altered without hosing the button. There is a solid piece of colored plastic in there. Anyway, here is the green -

If I ever try another color, it'll be this green.

Why did you go with 194 canbus for the cluster and didn't go with canbus with everything else?

I'll have to check my ask tray and ring soon, I don't recall a light in mine.
