Thanks man... still a few white scratches on the truck.... wife isn't so careful with your rings and such when she gets in and out of the truck. :/

I'm using Turtle wax rubbing compound paste, to cut some of the clear coat off, then some Mother's Polish to get the luster back. After that... I use "NuFinish" as a wax. The bottle says it's the "Once a Year Car Polish", but I use it twice a year, the result is a finish that beads all year round. :)

I still haven't done my 3rd Gen 4Runner yet.... planning on replacing/painting the front passenger fender, after a balljoint failure... once the paint sets, I'll be waxing that truck too.

    Here's one of it's better angles.... :D

Love both your rides, I'm thinking of the sky jacker kit for lift too. Would love to get more thoughts on how that install went for ya.

thanks man.... install of the lift was pretty straight forward. Only suggestion I have... bring the struts into a shop to have them disassembled and re-assembled. Cut out a huge part of the work for me.... and wasn't too expensive to have done.

Nice Tacoma. I have a Tacoma the same color getting my 285/70R17 and a 3'' Suspension lift put on tomorrow.

Thanks once I have a bit more wear on mine I won't be so hesitant to to rip into it. It's the first new vehicle I ever bought and know it will last a long time so plenty of mod time down the road.

Great build thread and perfect stance on the Tacoma. Your 4 Runner is awesome as well.
    I have a 2007 DCLB Sport as well as a 2000 SR5 Tacoma.

I really like the grill lights and had an idea. This is just a thought as well but...have you ever thought of painting the bezel of the grill lights to a darker color? It may look pretty cool seeing that the Satoshi grill is black and it might give it a sleeker look. Just a thought.

    Keep it up!

Thanks for checking in! I'll keep that in mind about the lights. I'm considering buying some Hella Black Magics to replace these old ones..... should make it a little more stealthy.

Here's a newer pic, following my frame replacement. :)

Did a good detail on the truck the other day, cleaned out the interior, washed my WeatherTech floor mats too. You could eat off the floors now.. ;)

So it's been a while... I've been working on my 3rd Gen 4Runner... with the odd mod being done to the Taco. This weekend, I decided to pull the front seats, and found quite a bit of grossness

    18698385_10155037746605020_8464586925359_3d1b2eae9799c111d3a88ddd5383d08848e33a7a.jpg

I decided to give the seats and the carpets a good wash. I did things the redneck way, and literally hosed everything down, and then scrubbed them down with laundry detergent.

    18739974_10155037746485020_3259110637117_e38ce3857753eb25b61aea3fc97fe5b252071eca.jpg

Another rinse with the hose, and I let everything dry before putting it all together. It's a good thing I have a good woman... not every girl would let their man put car parts in the livingroom to dry! ;)

By the end of the day, the interior carpet was looking a lot better...

After letting everything dry thoroughly for a day and a half... I put everything back together...

I've been wanting to get a new TRD PRO knob for the Taco... but decided to try vinyl wrapping my current one....

    28535551_10155819688850020_1640021197_n__aafd18ebebe441dbbf48a572bd80f4ce8262134d.jpg

Turned out alright... but definitely not perfect. It will satisfy my itch until I decide to pull the trigger on another new knob.

    Nicer weather = Mod time!

Recently updated my Satoshi grill... and repainted my Sport wheels...

How did the Frame replacement go for you? I have an '06 very similar to your rig, and I found out a month ago that I'm eligible and now just waiting for the new frame to come in. Rear leas springs too....

I'm nervous to seee how much and what the dealer "recommends in upgrades" while the frame job happens....

I want to lift my truck, but that will have to wait for the funds to build up first.

Sorry for the late reply... not on here much these days, as I'm neck deep into a garage build, and been working on the house at the same time. The dealer tried to take me for more than they should. First they charged me an extra hour of labor because I had a lift on the truck. Then they wanted to charge me double the labor needed to do change the front crank seal. They also swapped out an upper balljoint.

Overall... I called them out on their bullshit... I actually documented some of it here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-utKYQ-Su4&t=1s

I also have other videos on my channel... most are fitness related... but also have some daily v-logs and the occasional truck video.

Don't do it!! I've since done it in a regular vinyl material... twice. and it still isn't right. Next time... looking for some other material.
