SpaceX to land rocket at Vandenberg

    2015 DCSB Pyrite 4x4 Off-Road
    Launching at Vandenberg (near Lompoc) tonite at 7:22, landing back 1/4 mile away about 7 minutes later.
    There's nowhere off base (unless you have a boat) where you can see the rocket on the ground. This is about as close as you can get, about 4 miles from the launch site:

    There's a hill that blocks a couple hundred feet, a few seconds.

    tried to watch the last one in July from Lompoc, I was in town for work. It was at 4:40Am or something like that and we couldn't see anything due to the very thick marine layer. Such a bummer!

    I was out fishing and happened to look up at the right time.

    That's the second stage on the left, and the first stage swerving back to Vandenberg on the right.
