poke-pole fishing. NorCAl guys, throw me a bone?

i am gonna put a rig together. i have some stainless steel wire i can twist into a rigid hook holder. i need to figure out the pole. maybe i'll go find a garage sale saltwater pole and strip off the ferrules.

this is ground zero for me. i am willing to make a mess to figure this out. i have ZERO idea what i am supposed to do. i've seen a bunch of videos. it does look like fun.

i think i will try out north of the Golden Gate Bridge. any tips?

any one want to ditch work this friday?

 

Just happened to see this. Bamboo works good for this, free and you can make any length you want. Wrap some grip tape on for nonslip handle and can drill a hole near end to attach a wrist lanyard.

 

Just get a used rod from a garage sale. attach a coat hanger about 1 and a half ft then make a loop at the end. I'm heading out this Saturday for eel. You're welcome to tag along!
