While hauling a trailer this past Saturday I noticed the trailer lights flickered on/off with every hill or bump. I could grab the plug and the lights came on if held in a certain position. The trailer lights worked fine for the guy who owns the trailer, just not on my truck. It is the first time in awhile I used the 7 blade. I had a 7 to 4 adapter plugged in for years, my boat uses a 4 flat connector. I want to replace the socket before this Saturday, I will be pulling the same trailer to a Band Competition. I want to go back with a Hopkins 48470 so I can have both available, will add a LED tailgate light bar if I get full time access to the flat connector. I read through some older forums and saw mention of a wiring diagram that would be helpful for landing the wires on the new terminals. Has anyone found that?

Check to make sure your Ground Connections are solid. Do not use the trailer hitch as a ground. Try connecting your trailer lights without the trailer on the hitch. That way you are checking out the wiring by itself. Good luck.
