I am looking at a new 4Runner. Only catch is they'd have to dealer grade and it'd be coming from about 200 miles away.

Is there any risk to the vehicle if someone goes and gets it and sets cruise at 70mph for 3 hours?

Its no different than you going on a road trip for 3 hours and setting the cruise control to 70mph. It will be fine!

Request it rides on a transport truck. That's what I did. Mine had 5 miles when I received it. Moved from a dealer 230 miles away. I'm pretty sure that's common practice anyway. Dealerships are always moving vehicles around. Not practical to drive them all by themselves.

Very small dealer. They are just gonna drive one of their new cars down and do a swap.

I share your concern about cruise then. Make the deal with the other dealer and drive yourself?

Incorrect, I worked at one of the top volume Ford dealerships in NYC. We always had drivers transport vehicles we had to locate, only transported on a flatbed if the customer requested and that would be incorporated into the price. Our locates always came from 50 or more miles away.

The dealership I had mine traded from had a network of dealer's between Utah and Washington. They basically could pick from any of them willing to trade and get it here in a couple days. I imagine it's different for all dealerships. My price didn't change due to having it swapped.

People argue about everything regarding breaking in a vehicle, with the exception of one thing. Don't use cruise the first 500 miles.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
There isn't much to "break in" on a modern engine. It'll be fine. Express your concerns if you really want to and see what can be done about it but I wouldn't personally worry about it.
