Quite warm here this week and when i got in the tacoma to head home the UG told me its temp was over 145F...
I am sure anyone from the southern USA gets even higher temps...
Has this caused any issues for anyone?

Its not sitting on the dash directly. Its using the flexible stock windshield mount and is positioned over the end of the dash close to the instrument cluster.

So I have tried searching but to no avail, I wholly admit my google-fu could be weak though. I know for the 2005+ the MX model can read trans temp, was there ever a work around for 1st gens?

Just ordered the Ultragauge but haven't found any place to mount it on my '06 yet. Seems to block or be blocked by something no matter where I would put it except over the windshield. Doesn't appear to be any way to run the cable out of sight. Anyone done this. I see a few shots here where the cable looks like it's run into the ceiling somehow. Since it doesn't come loose from the gauge or from the connector it would appear to take a mighty large hole if you ran it through the dash or ceiling panel. Any suggestions on how to run the cable from above the windshield?

Any chance anyone knows if support is on its way for a tire pressure read out? I see Scangauge has this in the new firmware. I prefer the additional data points the ultra gauge can run tho. Oil temp trans temp, and tire pressure would be great

finally got my hands on one.. mx 1.3 but these things come with no instructions.
how do i get it to show MPG, and transmission temp.

Ideally I want it to display engine temp, trans temp, and MPG seems like most important options

I put mine just above the air vent to the right of the instruments - just off your right hand when at 10 and 2. There is enough trim to pick up about 3/4 of the gage mounting base and it does not block any appreciable amount of air from the vent. Ratted the wire up the steering column and along the outside edge of instrument cluster. The install is clean, below dash level, and easy to see/use. I did have to apply a better double back tape after about a year of use.

There's an UG dash mount that is a ball/socket attachment to flat stickey tape.

Pop the ball mount out of the socket. Jam the ball between the fins of the A/C vent. Presto, you have yourself a sturdy mount that is way more flush to the dash/console and a cleaner looking install.

Interesting concept. Checked mine and sure enough the standard UG ball mount does as you describe. The buttons on the back remain pretty accessible. That said it leaves the vent fixed in a "full open and straight forward" position. In the end I went back to using the mounting pad dbl backed taped directly above the vent.

I also used a sticky mounting pad but saw someone mention just sticking the "ball" portion thru the vent louvers and thought this would be a better alternative.
It does keep the louvers pointing straight forward as you mention but you can still open/close it.

Hi, I have an 06 Tacoma and am having trouble finding the trams temp. I’ve heard of putting the code in but I’m not sure what that means. I’m new to these kinds of gauges so any help would be greatly appreciated!
