Hey those look great my question is when you peel off the excess does it just breakapart where it meets the flair or did you use a razor to make sure you got the perfect trim?

I tried taping around the sensors to put on a sealant and it’s a pain. A sticker would be easier. I'm not sure about the fender flairs, but my instinct would be to tape it off.

Just peel the excess, but the key is to apply it very thick. If its not thick enough, it will be a pain.

I plastidipped my grille last year, and there's a couple of chips in the paint where the chrome sees through. Not huge, but enough I can see it (nobody else probably can). Can I just touch it up, or should I pull it off and plastidip the whole thing again?

I have a couple spots where grease got on my grill and softened the derp and peeled off. I had my grease guns hanging in a bad spot and the hot summer temps forced out a couple drips.

Supposedly this stuff is made to soften and reattached chipped edges:
    https://www.dipyourcar.com/collections/application-and-removal/products/fix-kit-as-seen-on-youtube

I'm thinking about it but am also considering taking my original grille to a body shop to just get it done in something permanent? I do want to see if they can do something that won't chip. If not, I'll just stick with derp.

Depending on how many coats, it’ll hold up. I put 6 coats on the rear bumper of my 08 about 6 years ago and it’s srill holding up. Only places it’s messed up is in the areas where I hit rocks and logs on trails.

20181010_151506.jpg For little touch-up spots, I use liquid electrical tape with the brush in the bottle. Satin black, cant see it. Lots of repairs in a single bottle.

I was looking at that and used the spray can version for the first time. Coming from the same company, I had a suspicion that it was derp.

How long did you wait before peeling off the tape?

Derp'd the chrome Tacoma and V6 badges over the weekend. Taped off and applied about 10 coats while washing the wife's Tahoe. Waited about 10 minutes between coats and removed the excess after 30 minutes of final dry time. Outside it was in the low 80's with low humidity.

Very easy, just leave enough paint exposed and spray multiple coats. Peels off like magic and stays on the chrome.

How long did you let the last coat dry before peeling?
