Is it heavier and fits on the boot just right? Don't need a grommet?

Mines aluminum up top and I haven’t noticed it getting any warmer than anything else in the cab on a hot day. We’ve had a few 90+ degree days this Indian summer and it hasn’t been an issue, mine is street parked too.

I mean if you’re in Arizona during the summer anything you put in the truck is gonna get hot, so unless you make it out of ice, the shift knob is gonna be the same temp as everything else in the cab.

It is heavier than the original, but not a ton heavier if that makes sense. You can feel the difference in the shifts. The boot does not attach to the knob. I removed the chrome piece and zip tied the inside to the shifter. You can see this in the second picture. There is a thread somewhere on this that shows exactly how to do it.
