I bought the truck with 3" Eibach/toytec lift. After reading countless threads on here I now realize this is a terrible combination for CV shafts. I thought I may have found a solution in the high angle boots but the lasted all of 2k miles. I'm thinking I want to try the boot mod as i already have the shaft apart. Question is where can I get an OEM material boot for a reman CVJ cup. When i ordered these I thought I was getting OEM toyota cups but they are round where the boot clamps down unlike the OEM with the 3 dips. Anyone have a suggestion, other than lowering the truck down. I love the look and function of the eibach set up however eating axle boots is beginning to suck. Has anyone with a similar set up had positive results with the boot stretch mod? Thanks.

I have the Toytecs. The ones I have are adjustable. I have it set to about 2". I also have a diff drop kit. My CV angles are just right. I can fit 32" tires maybe 33" with no problem. 3" will get them to rub. It's the ribs on the boots that touch and friction causes them to eat away at each other. There are options for doing a boot-slide mod and also high strength boots for off-roading that might help.

Then what are the high strength boot options? From what I've read OEM is the best. Like I said I had CVJ put on the orange high angle boots for lifted applications. That didn't work out so well.

I also had the CVJ high angle boots and they lasted 15,000 miles. I have a 2 inch lift.

Since then I bought OEM boots and did the boot slide mod. I'm up to about 20,000 miles and they're looking pretty good still.

I think I got the OEM ones at either Amazon or Ebay or some online dealer thing. My local dealer wanted like 50% more for them if I remember correctly.

Napa axles. Approx 55K on them. No tears or issues at all. I am about 85% street and I do off-road it. I don't beat the piss out of it but I do off-road some. She does a lot of yard work mostly.

I used to be kinda anti non-oem CV's etc. However, a bunch of them have lifetime warranties so you rip a boot and just replace it. You'll get really good at replacing CV's but you won't have to bother re-booting.

I have 2 CVJ's and an O'rielly's as a spare. When the CVJ's rip I swap the axle right away. When the spare o'reilly's is in there and it rips I leave it alone forever and then swap it out. They actually last a pretty long time.

I would say SDHQ's boots are better than OEM. You might just need to come down to 2.5" or continue to pay the price for vanity. 3" is more trouble than it's worth.

IMO the CVJ "high angle" perform worse than OEM, I get the feeling it was more theoretical than proven. At the time I ordered mine they didn't know of the spacer mod, but for my next go-around (as my boots are destroyed) I'm giving the spacer mod a shot. My inner boots are still good though, and I have been running a diff drop and modest lift (about 2", still have a rake with aal in the rear).

I got the opportunity to look under my nephew's 2001 (I think) 4 Runner, which is lifted.

His cv joint angle is... non-angular :) ... I asked him how come,
    he said "diff drop kit"...
