This worked like a charm on my W8400NEX by the way. Appreciate the video!

On my AVIC 8200 NEX I did this bypass. Something weird is that sometimes I get the message "Misconfigured parking brake" and sometimes I don't with the bypass enabled. It seems like this happens when I start the truck and throw it into drive/reverse & start moving before the unit has completed booting.

Does anyone else have this behavior?

I'm assuming it's because the bypass is disabled during the boot process for the pioneer and if I start moving before the boot finishes it doesn't have time to read the bypass settings.

I don't think this trick works on my AVH-1300NEX unfortunately. Any tricks for that specific unit? I tried installing the bypass today but it didn't work for some reason. Black to black (stereo and truck harness), green to green (stereo harness only), blue to blue (stereo and truck harness). I'm wondering if I should have connected the blue bypass wire to the stereo harness only instead of connecting it to the stereo and the truck harness?

You cannot use the quadrant trick for ANY avh units. As for a bypass you hook up black to black, green to green and blue to the blue/white stripe on radio. Don’t know what bypass your using but as long as it’s a tr1 or micro bypass that is for the pioneers that’s all you do.

Ah bummer deal. I'm using a micro bypass. I'll try and remove the blue wire coming from my truck harness tomorrow. That way the bypass blue will only be connected to the stereo blue/white wire and we'll see if that works.

I can't believe how many times people re-ask the same questions about the bypass.

One thing I recently learned about the software bypass is that the "Parking brake misconfigured" message still pops up if you start driving the car before the radio finishes booting. If you wait for the radio to complete the boot before driving you won't see this message.

Kind of an interesting race condition that shows the importance of the warning messages from the standpoint of where they live in the radio's program binary. I would have probably designed the code in a similar way given the nature of the messages. The other possible implication is that the messages are in a critical part of the code making it difficult to hack around them.

Stslimited.... what “method” are you talking about? If your wanting to bypass then YES you NEED a bypass. If your asking about the quadrant hack then NO it won’t.
I have looked back at all my posts and pms I get and I have specifically explained what needs to be done on ALL of the pioneer stereos. By no means am I mad but if people read this thread, the answers are there. They can only be written and said so many ways to at the end.... get the same results. If people don’t want to read that’s fine but the thread should be locked because the less clutter the better and the answers are there.

Had the same issue, installed the bypass, reset the radio and now it works as advertised. I also decided to use only Android Auto and have had no issues since.

Sorry, should've mentioned I have a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX I purchased last week at the big blue box store. Installed it myself to save a bit and now wish I'd let them do it, can't seem to get it to fit right but still like it. Now just have to get a backup camera installed and I'll be done for a while.

With the bypass are you able to watch videos while driving? I have the same unit and no luck so far.

Seemed to work on my AVIC 8400. I got the “set on” message but haven’t gone for a drive yet.

Anyone figure out how to disable the boot acknowledgment button?

I have the 4400 in my Civic and will be adding a new one for the Tacoma next week.

Yes. With the microbypass you unlock everything. They came out with an update that let's let input the bypass via the bottom left corner. If you wire it correctly the bypass unlocks everything. Make sure you connect the bypass the way it's explained in the directions

So has anyone successfully bypassed the AVH-W4400NEX? Does the "touch and hold screen for 12sec" work? Does the microbypass work. Thank You! (I think Desert Honda Squid did (post before this one) but I'm having a little trouble following that post. Microbypass has a new model? Does it work in conjunction with the soft-press? MAny Many Thanks!
