2018 OR 4x4, No sunroof. Bought in May

Noticed a few times after a night of rain, when I get in the car in the morning there is a bit of water on the OEM weather mat on the passenger side. Its not much. At first, I didn't think twice. Thought maybe i spilled a bit of water. Now, I am wondering if I have a leak. The carpet under the mat feels dry; it may be a little damp, but that may also be my imagination. The underside of the weather mat is bone dry. It is just some water on the top of the mat.

    Is this a known issue?

If you have a factory installed roof rack it could be leaking in from there. I had that issue a few weeks ago and the seal had a slight tear in it. A little silicon goes a long way.

The AC drain line is over on the passenger side as is the fresh air inlet, so you make check those.

I had a door seal that was leaking at the top of the passenger door. It would run down the seal and manifest as a puddle on the floor board. Might be worth checking out

With any passenger side interior “leak”, always check that the AC drain tube is not blocked first before blaming unlikely sources.

Can you please tell me what to do exactly? I have never looked under a car before. But I would like to see.

There is a black rubber hose that sticks out from under the truck, this thread has info on adding a hose to it to prevent it from rusting the frame, but should help you locate it. When I worked as a tech I would just blow a little compressed air up it, or clear a visible blockage like mud or spiders....seen a lot of spiders. It’s usually spiders. Mud daubers, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, stink bugs.

Ok thanks. But doesnt it seem weird that if the ac drain was leaking into the cabin, that the tops of my mats are where the water is, not the underside?

Factory windshield? Had mine replaced and it leaked into passenger floor. Safelight fixes and all good.

I swear every single spring I have to clea
No, that’s what’s telling me it is the AC. most times they leak from near the blower fan, which is over top of your passenger floor mat.

The tube does not leak intobthe cabin. The tube gets clogged, then the water can backup into the cabin.

Although your scenario seems related to the rain if it's in the AM and before you start your truck.

I had a FJ that would attract wasps to clog the tube during rain, so I thought it was a rain leak.
