That place sucks. I've worked on the dock equipment and doors there and I always find a way to get glass in my tire that causes a leak. Plus I'm always itchy after I leave, like fiber glasses but worse

I always, always get the worst red spots/itchies on my inner elbow/forearm area when I go messing around in insulation. Every once in a great blue moon, there will be a contractor with an air compressor. Nice when someone has one, it tends to blow most of the crap off and not make one so itchy.

Duck tape works for me. Do everything you can not to touch or scratch bare skin areas. That way the little fibers have less of a chance of digging in to the skin. When your done working with it, take a long strip of duck tape and gently stuck it to your are and the rip it off. It will take all the little fibers with it.

My company just hired 2 guys. I don't know if that filled our spots but they are always interviewing. Assa Abloy on Dickerson Rd. It's hard work though. Were outside 75% of the time and the rest of the time your in a sissor lift. Lot of guys come and go after a couple weeks.

I’m assuming you’re talking about the Nashville plant? That place was built in ‘55 and has never been refreshed or rebuilt:rofl:. Nearly everything there, even the offices, is exactly like it was in 55.

Hardly exclusive to Duramax. Any 08+ diesel has the same emissions issues

Idk. I've had Ford, Dodge, and GM diesel work trucks. Ford seem to have no problem until the first 100k are over, Dodge have damn good motors but the transmission suck right from the factory, but ever GM with a duramax start throwing error codes from the def system when it gets cold. Even seen one 3 months old having this issue. They were good motor until the def system was forced to be added.

Most of them have more or less the same emissions system from Faurecia Emissions Control. They just package it differently for whichever manufacturer is ordering it. All will need servicing between 120-180k to the tune of about $4k for a new DOC/DPF and any sensors. If the truck is idled a lot, it will need service sooner. Ford EGT sensors fail all the time on the 6.7 and will strand you...to the point that some guys carry spares. The GT32 isn't a terribly stout turbo either but they fixed that in 2015 with the GT37. 6.7 Cummins will pop headgaskets and water pumps around 100k...EGR valves need regular cleaning too. LML and L5P's are saddled with the CP4 that can be an expensive repair in addition to the standard emissions equipment.

The days of diesel reliability disappeared in 2008 unless you are willing to delete.

Unfortunately the trucks we're driving have dot numbers and h5 tags. If I'm hauling one of the equipment, it puts me over 26,000lbs gross weight. That means I'm going thought weigh stations. If I get pulled for a random inspection (which happens quite often because they are used to seeing only semi trucks and think I'm not supposed to be there) and they find the delete kit, me and the company get big tickets. If it was my personal vehicle, that's the first thing I'd do once its out of warranty.

Have leaves started turning yet over in east TN. Thinking about going up toward Knoxville for a weekend once there's some color in the trees.

This is from Harlan a year ago this weekend. I know the leaves were changing in east TN the following weekend too cause every picture I took at AOP under the canopy had a yellow cast to it from the leaves.
