Anyone got one? I'm not sure if I could install it myself, I've got a lot of mechanical experience but the most electrical shit I've done is install speakers.

This particular system uses the factory remote and you only have to press the lock button three times, which I thought was pretty cool. Better than most systems where you have a bulky other remote.

Ive seen a few guys mention it here while I was researching remote starts. There’s also another guy/company I’ve seen on here and Amazon that has an almost plug and play system. Doesn’t fit my year model or else I would’ve went that route.

Ok, so I’m going to throw one more kink in the equation here... For me, my ultimate goal is to have the key fob type that has the buttons on the actual key (I’ll post a pic below) and then I can have room for my Surefire Sidekick (will also post example below).

I’m wondering if the remote start OP posted, would still work if I could find a key that will work with and get programmed to the truck.

I haven't been able to find the all in 1 key pictured that works with Tacos. I have an ebay switchblade key and it works awesome.

I'm in the same boat as you. I would love a remote start but I don't want to keep an extra fob on my keyring; I also wondered if a Rav-4 key would work.

Definitely would like to have it but don't want extra remotes as well.

Heard you can get it where you use your existing fob (19) and push the lock button 3times to start however once you open the door, the vehicle shuts off???

Usually they shut off if you tap the brake pedal, not when you open the door.

I have the MPC rs installed in my truck. It wasn't too crazy to install. I found a video on YouTube that walked me through it step by step. It does use your factory fob and it takes 3 pushes of the the lock button to start. The problem that I have is that when I enter my truck the engine will shut off once the door is opened. There is currently no takeover procedure for Toyotas that will fix this.

I got the viper remote start system with the GPS module to use on my smart phone. I will have it installed by best buy in a few weeks. I also got the pop-lock for my tailgate. Any information on these systems? Thanks.

I put the MPC on my truck this past week. Uses the same Fortin system I’ve see advertised. It was very easy to install and works perfectly. It doesn’t bother me that it shuts off when you open the door, I still get in a warm truck. I got it for $144 and change shipped.

HAM Radio hidden behind backseat. 3rd gen shocks / leafs soon to add struts. Everything else is stock besides the Viper remote start added because Minnesota sucks
I installed a Viper 4806v in my 09. I live in MN and work midnight shift I wanted to be able to start my truck from across the dang airport! The idea of having and extra FOB on my keychain killed me though but I just take off my stock one in the winter and keep my viper on it has the lock unlock on it.

As a side note I had a triple click remote start on my Mazda years ago and pretty much from the first day I installed it I regretted not being able to have range. my stock fob has crappy crappy range even with a new battery it almost defeats the point of having a remote start if your 10 feet from the car when it starts. just my thoughts carry on

I don't see why not but you can always call your local BB to verify. FYI they ran the deal again for the Compustar 4905S the other day for $250 installed. Keep an eye out for the "deal of the day" this time of year.
