The shop who did the install did the wiring...super clean! They just drilled two 1/2" holes in the rear column and ran the wires down through where the the tail light is and under the truck and put a wire cover over them. 12v outlet has an inline fuse by the outlets and the brake light/interior LEDs has an inline fuse up at the battery.

I have one LED also. It was plenty bright until all of a sudden it turned from bright white to yellowish. I checked the connections but couldn't find anything amiss. Still bright enough but nowhere as bright as it was.

Wonder if that just happens over time with those strip lights? Mine don't seem to be super sturdy...wonder if you could cut the wires and replace?

Finally got the right hardware in and got it all set up today...will attach links below for the stuff I used, all from Amazon.

Lifting eye nuts...fit PERFECTLY on the ends of the Yakima rack bolts coming through the roof of the shell. Some weren't long enough to fit without removing the stock nut and nut cap, but they're easy to remove and this ring nut will replace it no problem!

Cargo net...I removed the shitty plastic hooks on the corners and replaced with some nicer steel carabiners linked below!

This worked out great and I'm super happy with it!!! Can attach more pictures tomorrow if anyone wants them.

Thanks everyone on this thread for the ideas!

Good idea, I think the Thule screws are M4 but also considering O-track or L-track(same stuff by different companies) to back up the roof track fasteners.

What I'd really like is to swap the driver's side slider for a windoor and hang a panel inside clipped to the roof and bed rails with hooks for cords, ropes, hoses, framing square, etc. stuff that doesn't pile up well or tangles easily. I can't see the driver's side shell window in the rear view mirror so that would be the one to block.

Sounds like a good idea, would love to see how this would be installed. You could you mount the board on the bottom to the bed rail, but not sure about the top...would you hook it to the eye rings?

What kind of shell do you have? If you have an a.r.e and are ready going to have to buy the windoor, they make a really sweet toolbox set up that goes inside the windoor that doesn't take up too much bed space on the inside. Comes in several different set ups as well. Not sure how much it would cost, but I would check on those!

Snugtop rebel with reinforced roof and carpeted interior and yes, hook it to the eye rings on top and bed rail on the bottom. Not so much a tool box as a flat panel to organize items vertically that now take up flat space or end up under something else(I hate digging), possibly on a slide so I can get behind the panel too. I need the 6' bed of an access cab but also need more than one way to get at what I put back there.

Was that camper originally made for the Tacoma, or was it designed for another truck?
