For those who have painted their sliders, skids, bumpers, etc., what type of rattle can paint did you go with? I have flat black rustoleum to go over the self-etching primer, but I am considering getting the "textured" version off of Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QD7J7I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Anyone have any luck with the textured stuff? I figured some sort of anti-skid on the sliders would help, but I may be over thinking the need for it...

I've had a ton of issues with textured paint cans from rustoleum lately. Seems like I'm lucky to get half the paint out prior to the can shitting the bed.

Yeah, the reviews were kind of indicating that as well. I hesitate to waste the money/time on the product if it isn't really necessary.

I used the self etching primer then taped off the plate and used truck bed liner. Then I used a simple krylon matte black over the whole thing. Gave the texture my wife needs for a step and the smooth easy to fix texture of the slider. 20170601_170708.jpg 20170605_124514.jpg

Wipe down with acetone, paint with self etching primer, and I use rustoleums cheap ass satin black paint. It's like $3 a can.

And easy to touch up. The bedliner never looks quite right after you put multiple layers on with scratches.

Yep very true. Sometimes when I repaint stuff I'm lazy and do zero prep work, and it still looks great ish

I've used Rustoleum Bed Liner on everything that I've painted. However, I'm very unimpressed with it, but it's the easiest thing for me to get ahold of locally so I keep using it.

I find you gotta hold it upside down to get the best spray out of them. Just used it on my sliders. 1 can was just barely enough to cover the bare minimum needed for my sliders. I would get three cans if i were you

I noticed the upside down thing as well. It used to never be like that

Maybe you could buy just the lens and swap it out.

I thought that, but if I'm gonna pay for these lights, I don't want to risk breaking the seal on the housing
