same.....people who drive ATs regularly hate going to MTs in traffic because it's all left foot......but for me I hate going the other way because then it's all RIGHT foot haha

You said it! In the same commute congestion, my right foot will get way more angry in an AT.

What are our options for unlocking after stopping/parking? By default it seems to be just when you open the driver's door the others unlock as well. You can turn that off in the Entune settings, but then you have to manually unlock every time for your passengers. Do we only have those two or is there something else we can change it to by using Carista or TechStream?

I think the autos have different options, like when you put it into Park they unlock. My previous car, a Vue, was a MT and it unlocked all the doors when the ignition was shut off.

Yes. There are different settings including one like your Vue.

Yeah I was looking at that, but seems to just address the automatic - as far as putting into Park unlocks the doors. Otherwise the other options are unlock when the driver's door is opened, which seems to be the default on MT, or just completely off (never auto unlocks).

From the PDF: "Link Shift: Unlocks all doors when the shift lever is moved to P (Park) from any position other than P with the ignition switch ON, Link D Door: unlocks the other doors when the driver door is opened within approximately 43 seconds of the ignition switch being turned OFF, or OFF"

It contains all available options. MT and AT together. Unfortunate that way.

I have mine set to never auto lock and locking over a certain speed off also. I like having full control and no guesswork.

Sorry though. I thought there was a setting more like you wanted.

Well I kind of wonder what setting it to "Link Shift: Unlocks all doors when the shift lever is moved to P (Park) from any position other than P with the ignition switch ON" would do in a MT, if anything or even possible.

Anyone have an active Carista subscription that could check? What does it list as possible settings for that option on a MT?

I agree that it's the default on MT from observed behaviour ...if I think of it ill hook up techstream and see if there are options. Perhaps an "key in off position" like my 99 Runner.

If I still had my accidental Carista subscription, I would test it for you. It expired middle of last month.

Yeah that would be cool and more direct/official than Carista. Thanks!

I run my 18 wearing Steel Toed Danner Quarry's in Charlotte traffic (not as bad as the Bay Area but still shitty) and its not horrible but after a while my ankle will get sore because there isn't much give in the leather on an 8" boot. The plus side with the pedals being close together and wide boots is it makes for easy throttle "blips" while braking for off ramps :burnrubber:

I sit in terrible Toronto (404/DVP) stop/go traffic almost everyday, in a Camry, Automatic. I'm so god damned bored, I miss my Celica and the 5-speed sooo much. Kept me busy and engaged in the drive, felt less like a zombie.

    If/when I buy a Tacoma it'll be a manual FOR SURE.
