Well fellas... I believe my new rear Diff is broken.

I think a 9” is more important than a Marlin right now.

I think it’s the Supercharger. I don’t know. I was doing WOT data logging to send to Scott (UCON tuning guy) yesterday morning on my way to work.

I mean, I drove all the way home from Moab without issue. I obviously didn’t break it out there.

    Must be the Supercharger.

Sent an email to RST. They said some input shaft play is normal for the FJ case. Glad to hear that!

I'm willing to bet you put a small hair fracture in one of the teeth at Moab and it didn't show it's head until now. Same thing happen to me a few years back, went wheeling a month before hand and had no issues, was driving on the road normal driving back from VA and heard the infamous sound of the frequency of a broken ring gear hitting the pinion head.

That’s very likely. I did have a couple of cringe inducing bounces out there.

It’s funny. The sound is a rotational thumping this time. Last time it was a crunchy grinding sound.

I did verify that it’s coming from the diff with a stethoscope.

Homer, last I check marlin wasnt offering the crawl box for 2nd gen tacoma manual transmission. They are having an issue with the adapter plate that cause increase oil volume leading to oil coming out of the shifter. Last I checked they were testing a proto type.

Weldo, open the case in 2wd snd pull it apart very carefully and slowly because aou can pull the shift rods out of their slots and a little ball bearing will fall out. In order to get that back where it belongs you have to pull the gear off with those little keys (blocks). No worries though because if I can figure it out with zero experience anyone can. I probably put those keys in and out 10 times trying to figure it out. Gets easier with practice ;). Worse case senario you learn a lot more about how the case goes together then you bargained for.

Thanks for the advice! I haven't found a super good walk through of installing the twin stick shifters yet. Can anyone who has them say if they came with instructions?

There aren’t any since the RTS forum is gone.
We winged it with my install.

Helps to have someone there who’s done it before.

Soooooo, Ive been procrastinating about wiring my ADD switch because I figured it was the "easy" part and I haven't had time to go out anyway. Well, the time has come and Im going out. I have the pre-built switch from RST. Plugs right into the ADD and all I have to do for the other end is give it power and find a ground. Wyatt said get the power from the 4wD fuse in-cab, drivers side. This is the part where I feel stupid, how do I do that? I took apart down to the fuse box, unmounted it and its far more complicated and closed up than I anticipated....Should I just get a wired fuse from a stereo store and do it that way? Thanks in advance.

A fuse tap is probably the easiest way to go. Should be able to find one at any auto parts store.

Or you could find a wire that's hot and splice into it. The fuse tap is a lot less invasive though.
